truck stuck prevention!

I had the same problem too. I know that 4 low helps a lot in that situation and a shovel! May want to add that to your check list! JMHO

chevy crew cab duramax=$30,000.00

sleds=$12,000.00 each

getting stuck with no chains, tow straps, or shovel, and having to call your buddies to come pull your dumba$$ out=priceless

i never leave to go riding without chains and a good shovel(not the one from your backpack), very stupid idea IMO

Any recomendations?

honestly, chains and a good shovel go a long ways

i have a sleddeck on most of the time, if i get stuck and my chains and digging wont get me out, i shouldnt have been there in the first place.

common sense is key(as usual), but there are always those times you cant control

other than that a winch would be nice but i dont have the $$ right now for that

I do have some oxygen getting to my brain.

Looking for something to help with the 40+ mph gusts from the side when on glare ice. i've made 3 trips already, no problems but don't want too. 3 sleds in a 30ft all alluminum trailer isn't much weight and want to avoid a cross wind pushing me into the ditch when on glare ice.

Probably wouldn't run the chains on truck unless it's super nasty, but wondering if the cables on the trailer would be a good idea?

I can tell you from my years of trucking that the cables on a trailer aren't a lot of help in a side draft situation (high winds, steep super in a corner) they just don't have a lot of bite sideways. Cables will help with straight on braking, that's about it. If conditions are bad enough you need to chain, then it's best to have chains.
