Truck Sled Deck without box?

Has anybody seen or put a sled deck on a truck without the box, just like a flat bed. Pros and cons for doing it that way?

Dont see anything wrong with it. Just tie it down nice and tight and you should be good to go. Might look a little funny but hey whatever works.

Why wouldn't you just use your flatbed to haul sleds on. If it's not wide enough put some extensions on the side. Can always come up with a ramp...

why use a sled deck, a flat bed is way cheaper, and yes they are wide enough, you can only go 102 inches anyway.

I see a lot of ranchers out here hauling there sleds on there flat bed

I've seen a sled deck tied onto a flatbed before. It caught my attention but it must have worked. I'm thinking of a flatbed on my pickup but one thing I'm wondering about is: I would thing that road slime would still blow around the sides and get all over the sled. That is one thing about a deck is it puts the sled up high enough and with the extra width it blocks nearly all the road grime.

You can get a toyup deck for cheaper than a flatbed costs and its a great deck too.
