When we travel our fridge struggles to stay cold enough and then does not completely recover until the next evening. Do any of you have some ideas?
Thanks,
Kiliki
Hey Girl,
I try to plug mine into AC at least a day ahead of departure, to get it good and cold, then travel with it on high, turning it down to normal when I get to where I'm going. Works for me, freezer stays ice cold, but it's not as hot here as it is there.
How old's the camper???? Is it a 3 way fridge (AC, DC, Propane)?
If it is just not staying cold when you are driving the flame must be blowing out or blowing around enough to not heat properly. But sounds more like you need to clean the burner blow it out with air and check your orfice. My fridge seemed to be burning ok but would barely get cold, worked when I was plugged into 120v.Cleaned and the flame was barely visable better but I could hear it burning better and thats all it took.
X2, we had the same setup in our old motorhome, and if you switch it to DC when driving (if properly hooked up) will just run off the trucks system, no worries as the alternator will keep things going. Just remember to switch back to propane when you stop.Run on DC while driving, but make sure you are plugged into vehicle charging system
