Truck bed cover???

Anybody have one of those covers on their truck? Likes, dislikes, preferences, advice, waterproof, cost, etc??? Thinking about putting one on if I can decide its a good idea.

i have the style that folds in two places, no rails, no velcro, no snaps. Just clamps under the rolled edge of the bed sides. You give an adjustable handle a quarter turn and it locks down. Takes about 30 seconds to line the thing up and install it. I've never had water infiltration (there is a foam gasket along the bottom edge of both sides). I used to carry tons of tools under it and it never tore even though a few tools were a little too high. I had the same one on my ranger for over 2 yrs with no difficulties. A little vinyl specific cleaner every once and awhile and it polishes up real nice. Hope this is the kind of tonneau cover you were referring to.

I've had one of these http://www.peragon.com/ for 8 years, the rails are strong but the hardware that holds them in place is flimsy. They are not water proof either; if a thief knows how they work they could simply bend one of the panels and gain some access. The rivets that hold the bearings in place will loosen up over time. They are all aluminum so they will last forever. The first one I installed faded after 6 months so they sent me a new one for free. It folds up at the front of the bed and it doesn’t damage it when I strap my dirt bike in the bed with the front tire against the folded cover.

I had a Roll N Lock for about 8 years. Loved it....but I couldn't fit my sled deck in with it, so I sold it.

I been runnin THESE since the early 90's. They are spendy, but they are tough and work well. They have great features and are out of the bed in 5 mins with a cordless 3/8" gun. 4 bolts hold the rail clamps in. I have had a couple of warrenty issues in 15 years and they just replace with no questions asked. With a locking tailgate these do keep your gear secure.

Worth a look. Good luck. EW

I have had'em all. Best one left standing is the Access cover. I will put one in your driveway for 350 bux! :face-icon-small-coo

Do you know if they'll shorten one so that I can keep my toolbox up front and keep the back covered? That's what I want!

My truck came with an Access cover and I gave it away and wish I had it back to modify now!
