Trouble installing the Large Burandt Tunnel bag on 155 Slash

I was trying to install a large burandt tunnel bag on my 2023 matryx 9R 155 slash. However the bolts on the bottom of the bag would not clear the flat bracket bolts on the tunnel. I couldn't get the bag to "lock". I ended up having to grind away about a quarter inch off the bracket/bolts on the tunnel bracket on each side before it would clear and actually lock. Has anyone else encountered this? Did they send me the wrong brackets? I do notice the tunnel slightly bends "up" naturally might be the cause of improper fit?

You do have to pull the bag slightly rearward from the front to fit over the two tabs. So it's not fully forward in the travel of the bag's front tabs when secured.

Sounds to me like you may have put the tunnel bracket bolts in upside down. Those bolts should come up through the tunnel, with the flat head on the underside and nuts above the bracket.

@armey37 posted a good photo above showing how it should be.

they do include 2 different sized t-bolts in the hardware kit. long and short. maybe you grabbed the wrong ones

Buddy did this and lost the bag immediately haha.

But yes - he either used the non flat brackets for some weird reason or put the bolts in backwards

Didn't see that you figured it out before I posted, glad you got it sorted (y)

I've got that "slight" up-bend too. I straighten it, chopped the fender short, but it keeps coming back. BMP bumper has kept the tunnel straight, but my taillight is darn near pushed to the grab bar. Sled just really wants to keep it's duck bill flip out back, lol

My tunnel bag came with 2 different mounting brackets. 2 short and 2 tall ones. I wasn’t paying attention when I installed them and installed the short ones. The bag wouldnt clip in so I had to swap them out for the long ones.

This was the problem. I put the bolts in upside down with the shiny flat part on top and the nut on the underside of the tunnel. Even though it was my fault, it wasn't entirely my fault...lol. I bought the sled used from a dealer without a bag. But the bracket was already installed using the medium back holes. The flat side of the bolt was on already on top. So I just moved the the bracket farther back and kept the bolts with the flat side on top. It didn't even occur to me the flat side would be on the bottom. Now that I think about it, thats probably why they sold the sled without a bag...previous owner probably lost the bag since it didn't "lock in". lol. Either way I've figured it out. And just so you all know, I installed the same style bag on another matryx last year and I installed it with the nuts up that time. Can't remember anything these days.

Are you running bigger than stock rear wheels?

My 9" wheels hit.
