trouble boondocker

i just bought a 06 apex with a boondocker turbo on it and i was told that it was set up at 10 pounds boost .. so it was a turn key and go sled.... well the display screen on the programer is blank .. and when i ride it pops alot on low rpm and seems to run rough... once you rev it up to higher rpms then it seems run ok .... it dosent have gauges on it because the guy didnèt want to run big boost .. and suggestions on why the rough running or the display screen is blanke .. any help would be great

I would say improper amount of fuel on the bottom end. try adding some in or taking some away with the fuel controller. You will see it run better right away. I don't understand guy's that spend that much money on a turbo and then cheap out and not buy a gauge. The only way to know what you are dealing with is to run an a/f gauge. They tell you if you are lean.good or to rich. Buy a gauge and you'll know for sure. Hopfully he wasn't running it lean all this time or he may have hurt the motor on you!!! I'd check it out. Oh and did I mention i'd put a gauge on??? Hope this helps you out!!!

I would call Boondocker ASAP with how close season is and possibly get the box sent in to them right away! Water damage???-not sure. If they can reset the box or possibly tell you how to do it than check your numbers on fuel flow. Boondockers numbers are very close to being the exact fuel flow. If your sled runs rich @ lower elevation(below mountains-in city), don't worry, the numbers should be close enough to run safely in the mountains. As far as the a/f gauge, do your homework. Do not buy Innovate, look at their history of customer complaints, the list is huge. I would go with the NGK or AEM a/f set ups. I've had nothing but problems with Innovate. Throw their crap on a shelf and call it a loss. Overall, sounds like your fuel flow is wrong. If you're only running up to 10 lbs of boost the Boondocker box is just fine for that application. Any more than 10 and I would seriously consider running a better control box. Rapid Bike is a winner. You can run 10 lbs of boost safely w/out a a/f gauge, just make sure your fuel numbers are set correctly for the elevation you ride and stay out of the rev limiter with your clutching. Watch your weight application here! I know plenty of guys that run no gauges and do just fine, but like stated above why take the risk when you just invested 10-15k on a used sled already:confused: Hope this helps:)

I would say no matter what, get an air fuel guage on there. I changed my aem to an fjo for the race fuel and have it for sale. It has a used o2 sensor and a new bosch sensor sensor , never used, and is all black. It retails for $299. I would ship it for $185

boon docker box installed? 1) if so remove it 2) smash it, 3) add something that works ie>purelogic
IMO its not worth the time to call boon docker cause they never know what it could be and if you dont know the lingo  your screwed. call outlaw motorsports and talk to dustin. he will tell you to do 3 things, all are listed above 1, 2, 3 :face-icon-small-con
