was bored and decided to make my sled sound a bit cooler so i removr the factory one and headed down to the local performance shop and matched up a muffler, welded some brackets for the mounts and fired her up. I sounds totally cool, a real deep throaty sound and feels like it may have a bit more power [maybe not but feels like it]. I know your going to say i wasted my time because im going to turbo it but not till this summer so there is still lots of riding to be done. I also went with the 2.25" chamber instead of the 2" factory.

that set up looks good, believe it or not the magnaflow muffler is lighter thasn the factory one, the factory one is super heavy ill weigh them but im guessing you save about 8lbs or so. wasent really caring for the weight issue its a four stroke yamaha they are heavy till they are boosted, lol.

puma would show you a thing or two!

I was just thinking about taking my stock one of to weigh it. You could save me the hassle. I lifted a phazer exhaust the other day and could not believe how heavy it was. The owner told me he weighed it at 26 pounds. My bro does alot of automotive exhaust work and has been trying to talk me into trying a turbo muffler. He figures they only weigh about five to ten pounds, but he didn't have one on hand to weigh.

The Stock can on a Phazer is about 17lbs with the associated brackets and black plastic cap.. the whole unit to the engine might weigh in at 26lbs..

I tried a cheapy Flopro bottle on my Nytro, it lasted about 4 hours before I put the stock stuff back on. Loud as f*ck(which I like) but it sounded like ****. Tried turning it around but that just made it worse.

MBRP is on the way

Stock muffler is 12# 4 oz. plus brackets and crap. I put on a supertrap superlight stainless muffler. Saved 8#, sounds good, not too loud, put in 8 disks. Hopefully I can get it out this week. Stuck in today:face-icon-small-sad I will post pics later....(I am too lazy to go to the shed right now it's cold outside)

On the topic of mufflers... has anyone got somethign to dump it into the tunnel.. hell i dont car if its stright piped but will i loose HP if i do a stright pipe on mine?

would be nice to be able to carry some fuel every now and again instead of having to borrow fuel

According to the dynos the open pipe makes more hp's.
That magnaflo muffler, any part numbers?? Wouldn't mind trying that myself to get a different sound.

I put mine on the bathroom scale to weigh it. and it was 26 lbs with the black end cap on. Not to say the the scale was perfectly accurate. But still the stock muffler is heavy.

lightening800,

any update to how the muffler works. Curious if it is pretty loud or not.

FWIW my buddy made up 10 Nytro exhausts.

> 6 pound weight savings
> high temp powder coating
> turnout
> waterjet cut bracket fits all stock plastic and mounting
> stainless steel T-bolt clamp
> great sound
> $255.00

He's got a few left, PM me if interested.

Thanks,

LG

I stopped by his place to have a look at his Nytro last week and I have to say its sounds sweet! Didnt get to take it out for a rip because he was changing the track out to a 162, but got to fire it up and burp the throttle a couple of times. Sounds like a sport bike. Not loud at all, but really throaty.
