hey there just wondering if there is any tricks to remove the oil pump linkage off the throttle boddies with out taking off the oil pump?? Pretty tight an dark, am i missing something? THX

They should come off pretty easy just twist the plastic housing at the end if linkage. It should snap off. It might be easier to take off the plastic belly pan to get at it, especially if you thinking about doing oil delete.

Jeff, save youself a bit of hassle & pull the bellypan, it's easier that way.

Why are you pulling the linkage without pulling the whole thing anyhow?

Get rid of that thing!!

easy fix from the top

I've had mine off several times adjusting linkage, First off, take a piece of mechanics wire and wire the throttle handle wide open.This will bring the linkage closer to the top and easier to get to. Then take about a 12 inch piece of mechanics wire and just twist or bend it around the oil pump linkage so if you drop the linkage it wont go clear down to the belly pan. I bend the loose end of wire so it is secure up top some where. Now you will need a long flat tip screw driver ( 12 to 16 inch long ) You can now use the screw driver to gently pry the plastic hem joint off the oil pump. Once you do that then the other end of the linkage will just slide off the other end. Now when you remove the linkage the oil pump will go closed, when its time to put the linkage back on use a small wire and just hook the oil pump lever and pull back open and hold it with your wire. slide the top end of linkage on first, then gently press the hem joint back on. Once you do this a time or two it will only take you about 10 minutes to adjust the linkage. When finished un tie the throttle handle and check your work.

Ya i dinno i was messing wit it last night with no luck, an it just popped off wit a screw driver this morning. sorry for wasting your time. :beer;

I did the oil pump adjustment on both of my sleds and upon replacing the linkage I placed a machine washer and a hair-pin throttle rod clip on the linkage just for safety. It's just me but after a few times of on and off I just felt safer with the clip and the washer. Plus the hole for the clip is already there >>>>.
