Trails West GN Enclosed

What's wrong with the insulation?

Yet another thing they cheaped out on ... what they did was use the cheapest insulation they could find ... IE, 1/2" non-lined styrofoam ... the exact same **** you'd find a cheap cooler you buy at Mini Mart made out of ... WHICH .... would have been fine, BUT ... the eTrax that I have going down the side ... the insulation isn't thick enough to stay in place with the wall panels holding it in, it flexes and moves around, and there is a dead spot where the eTrax is .. so what happened is as the trailer got broke in and flexed and whatnot all the insulation fell down about 3" from where its original spot was, and then every time I had to use the eTrax I had to poke it back up ... then it'd fall down .... and generally speaking, it'd just work itself apart till it'd start flaking and come apart.

So, instead of some thicker and/or lined microfoam insulation in, they just put the cheap **** in, then didn't build it worth a damn or put any provision in to keep in in place, so its all coming apart and I'm gonna have to re-do all of it before next (not this) season.

Again .... I would never buy another Double R trailer again. Ever. They flat out screwed me on it.

You get what you pay for,
You pay for what you get.
Go Aluma or featherlite if you can. Down the road you will be happy that you did.
I will never EVER own another steel trailer (other than a boat trailer).

X2 and remember Featherlite is the official trailer of Nascar.....

I like the CB edition Trailer a lot. I called them up last week and asked if I could order a GN that was a little shorter then what they offered. The guy said NO. I told him I know it would cost me because it as kinda a custom one. He said NO. (Again no if's, ands, or butt's about it. Just NO.) I said look I really like your trailers but I hate bumper hitches any way I can with more $ order a 24 ish foot trailer in a GN. Again the big N.O. came across the phone. I said goodbye and hung up.

I thought to myself WOW they didn't even think about it or try to work something out. I could of been a customer for life. They don't know. Now I just don't like them.

Well, if they only build it one way they can offer it for a better price. I don't think you would mind the extra length of the trailer. Always nice to have more room than not enough.

You know I will, should be @ 5 weeks. I was hoping to be riding before it shows up.

Love my trails west gooseneck. I have the 28 footer with the car hauler option (heavier back door and thicker floor) furnace. Paid 18 for it. Pulls like a dream and holds 5 sleds comfortably. No regrets or problems with the trailer.

couldnt agree more. With the amount of salt (mn anyway) uses, turns steel into looking terrible very quickly.
Aluma vote here. If you going to keep it long term, aluminum.

the GN looks really appealing, but the worst part about it is for the most part no one else could use it because having a GN hitch in your truck is not very common

of course the best part about is that no one would borrow it lol

Meathooker, Wow, I was shocked that came from an Idahoan, I don't know of a rig in my area that doesn't have a GN.

Hitch, that is, the sledtrailer GN are a little harder to find.
