Now for the rest of the story.
The person that called me did not give his name but I did have the phone number. I called it and got a fax machine. I sent a fax asking for more help and got NOTHING.
I contacted the Midvale police and they took the information I received. Next I went to the Woods Cross police where my sleds were allegedly located. The officer I spoke to wanted me to try and get the person who called me to give more information because there was not enough for probable cause search warrant. He also wanted me to not mention that I was working with the police. That would have potentially driven this person away.
The Woods Cross, UT police did go to the house and ask to look around the property and was initially denied. The police made a return trip and asked again. This time they were given permission to look at anything they wanted. Nothing was found.
So I assume that I was given crappy information or they moved 2 sleds in between the visits which is entirely possible since it was 2 days apart.
I hope the person that called me can give more information, if not I think I am at a standstill once again.
Thanks for all the offers to help. If I get another lead I will probably approach it differently and use some help from my extended group of friends here on the forum to investigate a bit more on my own. Now that I know a bit more about the limitations the police have on them I will try to get an eyewitness to state positively they saw and was able to identify a sled.
