Trailer, two sleds, tools, Stolen in Midvale, UT!!!

This deserves to be in general, and anybody that knows Jeff knows why. If you needed something, right down to the shirt off his back, you wouldn't need to steal it, he'd just give it to you.

You western state folk, please keep an eye out best you can for someone trying to dump stuff quick, Carl's Cycle 966 motor, etc.

I just don't understand people...

The trailer was a plain jane white with no sticker or logos on it.The Summit was new no mods.
The 900 RMK had a custom hood paint job.

2009 Ski-Doo Summit Hill Climb
2005 Polaris 900 RMK
20 ft. Pace American enclosed trailer white. Plate #98726P

Plus I had about $3000 worth of tools in it!! Stolen in Midvale area where I live.

Rain Man, thank you for your kind words.

I wanted to take a moment and thank all of you that sent me messages and helpful sugestions.

It's been a month and nothing was recovered. I settled up with the insurance company on Friday and they treated me fairly well for what was insured.

Unfortunatly I had 1 sled with no theft insurance to cover it. So if you see a sled tith that hood in the picture posted above somewhere call me 801-634-2063 since the 2005 900 RMK is still missing.

Thanks again, Jeff

I hate to hear things like this. I cannot believe people can do this to someone else. I will keep an eye out for ya around here for sure!

I need some more help from my anonymous tipster.

A guy called me last night and had an address where my sleds are. I can't just go there and get them. I need a way to positivly identify them. A picture or somthing I can use to get my stuff back!?!?!?!?!?!?

Thanks Jeff

You can certainly go look in the windows (or yard)!
Yeah can't do nothing to ya for being curious, what are they going to do call the cops on the guy whos sleds they stole??? If anything you can just say you were admiring the way the windows were installed and was going to knock and ask who did the work!;)

Anyways, if thats not it, is there anyway they would have ridden em out to the Uintas (Mirror Lake) and abandon them?? Someone from the Lodge came over yesterday and said there was an abandon XP up by Mirror Lake, I haven't been up there yet, we usually give it a week or so before we go and tow em out and take them to the Ranger Station, seen this thread and thought I'd ask...

Thanks for the ideas guys. I drove by the place this morning and there are no windows on the garage.

From what my anonymous tipper said the sleds are in that garage right now! I would go stake out the property next to the house but it has a fence all the way around it and I don't want to get in trouble for trespaassing.

Jeff

Have you talked to the local PD about what your tipster told you?

MPS, any suggestions on what Dartos could or could not do?

If the police won't elp, round up a d@mn posse and storm the fence, make sure your armed and vested up (bulletproof) Its a proven fact that 65% of theives in the US today won't hesitate to open fire when the long arm of the law crashes down on them.. Or go to your local pawn shop, find an old tear gas grenade, and smoke em out... Probably too much but theivin pisses me off and I would bulldoze the front door down if I thought my stuff was in there, shoot first, ask questions later

Dartos:

Can you go over there and take some pictures of the site, the buildings etc?

Show us the lay of the land and maybe some ideas will sprout.......

Couldn't you pose as some sort of door to door salesperson, walk into the yard and knock on the shop door first, if he answers talk to him real nice, pitch your product, then ask to use the bathroom, hopefully there is one in the shop......

Verify they are there, try to take a pic on your cell phone when you come back from the bathroom in the shop......

Or find out if that shop is used for some sort of business. Find out what he does there, and then go and stop by and ask him to help you out with the service he offers.

Another idea, is to just go up to the shop door and knock on it. When he answers ask him for a quote on removing a tree in your yard. Tell him that you were under the impression that he was in that business. Try to look over his shoulder and see what is in the shop.

Or knock on the door, and tell the guy that you are designing a new pole barn sort of like his and ask him what he likes and dislikes about his set up. Get him to show you around.

GET CREATIVE!!

TRY TO SOMEHOW CON your way into seeing the inside of the shop.......

Another guy here in Utah had his stuff ripped off recently and had a hard time getting the cops to do much with out visual proof. Probable Cause.

So I am trying to work another angle and see if I can get my stuff with some more local knowlege. This guy knows someone at the house but said he is not involved. I would hope he would call and say everyone is gone come get your chit.

It may be a pipe dream but it may actually work just need to get the guy to come out of the wood work for me.

HELP ME DUDE

Sorry you got ripped... no matter what, it's a huge pain and a bummer, but it's completely cool if you're not comfortable going there on your own. People who steal live by a different set of rules, so it's natural to be uneasy about approaching or doing recon. Have someone pull up in a sedan, dress believable, go up to the door at dinner time and tell them they have won an epoxy garage floor from the local home depot or whatever. Show them samples (they give them away at the paint dept) and tell them to pick a color and all you need to do is measure the garage, inspect for cracks, and set a time for the installers to come out. Tell them they will pay a small amount in taxes for winning ($75 at tax time or something ) but they get a $3500 floor. Snap just one pic with a cell phone cam and you're golden, video is even better.

I had someone try to steal something from me once. It sucks, but you owe it to yourself, your family and every honest guy out there to bust these losers.

Get em good, and best of luck to you,

BHM

it's amazing how the fawking worthless cops do nothing and don't care. we had 3 rhinos stolen from a dealer one was ours. $30,000 + theft and the cop didn't even want to come out and as long as they were insured who cares he said. one just showed up in another county was sold to a guy and he had it on craigs list. the cops haven't even looked into it yet it's been 2 weeks

....like an address or coordinates so we can "Google Earth" it. :D

I would post the address but I have a couple of things in work on this now and don't want one of my snowest friends going there and cause them to move the sleds before thing run thier course. I know there is a chance they will do that anyway but I need to let this thing I'm running work for a day or 2.
