I have read this topic, http://www.snowestonline.com/forum/showthread.php?t=78116&highlight=selling+canada
And found a lot of very good info. But my situation is a bit different. A fellow Snowest member and myself would like to trade sleds, straight up. We would meet half way, which would put us in Canada. So what's the right way to import his sled into Canada if he is bringing it over himself? I know he could bring it over as if he was going sledding. Then we could do the deal here. But is that sled here legally then? Could I register it? Or would we go through the normal importing process, and bring it over in my name, with him as importer? Or could he bring it over under his name, saying he was going sledding, do the deal, then I do the paper work once it's here? What's the best way of doing this?
And also for him to bring my sled into the US on his way back home, what does he need? Has anybody ever imported a sled into the US? Most times it's into Canada. I want his boarder crossing to go smoothly on the way back. If anybody has any ideas the help would be greatly appreciated.
