Traded my 2007 Rmz 450 plus some cash on top for this unit, im really happy with it although there is a medium sized dent on one of the twin pipes that im not sure how to deal with. anyways this is my first post and just thought i would show off my new baby.

About that ding in the pipe, you more than likely won't be able to tell a difference, but if it bugs you.
take off the pipe thats dented
plug one end off ( i plug the end from the engine) make shure it will hold some air pressure. grab your compressed air blower stick it in the other end of the pipe, try to seal it as best you can, and pull the trigger
then take and heat up the dent with a torch.
once the dent starts to get hot the air pressure in the pipe will push the dent right back. bingo no more dent.

Nice sled, I got one similar new (for me) this year as well. Everybody I talk to says these are supposed to be great sleds. H:Dave fun with it!

if you dont have access to a torch and air

take a plug one end fill the pipe full of water and put it in the freezer it will pop the dent right out

Sweet sled!

The body man in me says Spitz Nail gun... It spot welds a small little post or nail onto the pipe in which you can latch onto and pull out with a slide hammer... I dont know if it would work or not, but if it were mine I'd give it a try. The freezing method sounds like it would work, but you dont have any control over it....

i think i may try the torch and air compressor method once i go back to Alberta and my friend can help me. i usually try something like that on my own and end up making it worse. i already managed to bend one of the clips that hold the seat on and now it wont snap back on:face-icon-small-blu.. does anyone know how to replace those little retainer clips?

Also is there a service manual available for my sled? and if so could someone direct me towards were to find one.

thanks

Times 2 or 3 or whatever on the torch and air compressor. I used this for many years to fix the pipes on my motocross bikes before the thumpers.

I'm at work so the pictures won't load, If the pipe is ceramic coated you will need to clean the ceramic off around the dent.

yes they are jaws, and i never thought about the hood clearance but you may be right. i was thinking of things to do to ready it for the season and so far i think im going to clean the powervalves and change the diamond drive fluid. am i missing anything? anything i should check on it since its used? and i really would like to get a hold of a service manual since i don't know much about maintaining sleds.

throw then stupid clips in the garbage, take the tabs off the tunnel and run a bolt straight through , if you ever roll it the seats always fly off and anything you have stored in it ends up scattered all over the snow

Ditto on the previous link for the RepairPro manual on ebay. I have used them for two of my Arctic Cats and my brother has one for his. No Complaints about it - Except it is not paper. I usually just print off what I need when I need it and keep it somewhere.
