So heres the deal, buy a new 174 for my nytro. Put approx 150kms and drop 3lugs....not impressed...

They warranty the track but not the other 650.00 it costs me to get it removed and the new one installed....complete crap!!

Not a happy customer at all.....

You paid somebody $650 bucks to re and re a track? Thats 6 hours at 100 bucks an hour! And then you complain about track USA warrantying your track. You are stupid.

That is a one hour job tops, regardless of brand of sled. I'd do it for half of that, $600+ an hour, now that's a fair shop rate. I used to do it in less than 1/2 hour at the halfway point on the Alcan 200 race. That there is some profit boys, suckers are a dime a dozen apparently. Good luck getting any sympathy with that self portrait.

Tracks usa sells tracks and related items. Thats it, they dont do installs or anything like that. The fact that they warrantied your track so easily should make you happy. Ever tried to get Yokahama to warranty a tire that was mounted inflated and delaminated just that fast? Having never even made it out of the tire shop? They wont. If youre really that pissed, call cammoplast, they made the track...and after they get done telling you that it was not a defect that caused the issue, but running it too tight so as not to ratchet on that turbo nitro...then be pissed at them, not the ones who will probably be eating the cost cause the manufacturer wont warranty it to them.

And secondly...you paid how much to have a track changed? wow, im in the wrong business.

It's not a one hour job but still easy to do. Do you pay someone to change your oil and open the pickle jar too?

Your sled shop must LOOOOOOOOOOVE you.

things fail, you get a new track be happy. either find a decent shop that isnt stealing your hard earned money, or learn how to change a track.

Your wallet must have weighed as much as your sled. LOL
A fool and his money
A) buy a Yamaha?
B) are soon parted?
C) complain about the wrong shop?
:sorry: You make it too easy.

So...original track install, removal, new track install should take how long..? I will double check my bill.

Shoulda taken a shop no more than an hour. They have the proper workspace, tools and training. At the most you should have gotten smacked for $200, but man, you got DP'd!!!

Was that price including new drivers and pressing them on?
I can tell you on a XP it is a lot more work to do a 3" vs a 2.5.....swap drivers, reverse a few fasteners, trim rivets, and an act of god to get the driver/track installed without damaging seals. Twice the work of a normal swap. I cant speak for the yamaha job.

I love how everyone just jumps on this guy without actually thinking about what he is saying.

Sounds to me like he is $650 into the original track swap, the removal to get warranty replacement, and then the re-install.

The Nytro has a mechanical reverse, which is a PITA to re-install fast. Care must be taken to get all of the gears and the actuator in correctly. Do it wrong, and the chaincase can grenade.

Give the guy a break.

Question still remains............

Sympathy for not getting the labor warrantied from TracksUSA? My answer is still no. I would suggest to the OP to help describe (in truthful detail if possible) what riding conditions you were in and what you think caused said track damage vs. previous track performance with said sled and mods. Might give us a better understanding of the whole issue so we can have a better determination of whether to provide a useful response.

Actually a snowmobile shop should be able to do a yamaha with reverse just as fast im no expert and can swap my track in an hour and a half by myself a professional should do it in an hour

It sucks but ya gotta pay to play! This is why I learned to do my own work!

So would you say he was trying to get tracks USA to pay for the original track swap and the replacement one?
