Is the stabing issues primarily with the Power Claw (1 ply) tracks or have guys also had issues with the stock Camo track?

Thanks!!!

yes

I believe it is a powerclaw issue.Have one with over 1500 miles with no idler wheels or stab kit just run the proper tension,will add stab kit this summer..it is a loose track issue if you ask me....JMO

I don't think there is a issue, just internet rumors, I have about 8000 miles on M sleds with both tracks, I ran them all loose, no idler wheels, no problems:blah::blah::blah:

Was in a shop today and there was a MTN cat with a stabed track. The mechanic said it is a cause of to loose and the moon, sun and stars all aligned correctly that will cause this.

LOOK, more internet rumors:popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:

saw lots of tracks get stabbed, no powerclaws though. seems to be a bigger problem with 3" pitch tracks because the windows are bigger. if you run a turbo make sure it's tight, they seem to be the biggest culprits.

ding, ding, ding...... we have a winnnnna!!!

it is not from a particular brand or model track. it is due to the large open windows in the 2.86 and 3" pitch tracks. the suspension articulates "funny" and bam, the rail tip goes through the track window and viloa wrecked track, damaged rails ect... to the tune of about 1500.00.

take the 10 minutes and 50-100 bux and put an anti stab kit on and forgetaboutit.

just my .02 ski

Stabbed my powerclaw with 200 KM. Anti stab kit has now been bought and installed. And no this is not a rumor...I really did stab the track, and all I was doing was going up hill. I had also tightened my track up the previous days ride. I'm thinking the 3" pitch but not sure.

The INTERNET did not stab my track and cause $1100 damage after 200km! It would have cost $3000 if the dealer did the repairs I ordered the parts and did the repairs my self. I also ordered a anti stab kit still, waiting for parts.

In my opinion the reason tracks are getting stabbed is due to threee things the 3" windows are big enough that the rails fit thru them, the rail ends are shaped so once they start to push thru the 3" window they guide the rail all the way thru(if the rail end was bigger then the 3" opening it would never push thru the track) and the tracks are thinner/lighter/weaker/bend easier/streach quicker and are more prone to being run too loose. When I get my sled running again I will check the track tension BEFORE EVERY RIDE so this dosn't happen again. I used to check the track tension once and a while but on this M1000 I obviously need to keep a close eye on it.
