Track position questions

I have a question to experience snowbikers I just was reading snowbike world and see where cmxbk was talking about having there track the farthest forward in the industry so I started looking at pictures of different snowbikes how big of a deal is having the track farther under the bike thanks

I'm trying to post pictures of all the kits so people can see track position different but can't figure it out

I run a CMX kit and one thing they did that I like is that the bike adapter, the way it's designed, has 4 mounting positions so if you have clearance on your bike you can mount as far forward as possible.

The father you can get the track under your mass of weight the better.

You definitely want the track as far forward as possible for the best balance.

I'm not sure how CMX can claim that there kit is further forward than a Timbersled. All of my timbersled kits have been so close that the paddles only clear the linkage mounts by 1/4" or less. I think Timbersled has a little room to move forward on the KTM's with no linkage though.

I've ridden some of the other brands where the kit is set further back and you can definitely tell the difference. It puts a lot more weight on the ski.

Factory snow bike.

How far forward is to far forward?
If or when a factory builds a snow only snow bike where would be the best place to have the motor and tunnel/rear suspension mounted?
What would it be like if the motor was mounted on the front of the tunnel or even the top of the tunnel???
In both those scenarios when is the weight to high or to far back?

Just looking and side pictures it looks like the mototrax kits set farther back then all the rest of the kits

I've always wondered that about CMX too, but I always chalked it up to them saying that because it can be mounted in different positions so if you had a bike without linkage you could move it forward. But in reality it seems like any other bike with linkage its mounted in the same position as say a TS.

It is bike specific for mounting. Non linkage bikes can be up to 2" farther forward I believe.
