Track pitch vs driver pitch question????

Any input would be appreciated ...

Looking at a track with 2.594" pitch - will it work with 2.52" internal drivers - I know the two pitches are close but what is the likelihood of the track jumping / skipping?????

Advice / input from anyone with lots of track experience would be a help.

Thanks

No such thing as a 2.594 pitch, so you're good to go.

The replacement track pitch per the manufacturer's drawing shows the it as being 2.594" (manufactured by Soucy for ADBovin) and not standard 2.52".

The 2.594" pitch track is for a snow bike application (Explorer) and I hope to use it as a replacement track for a Sno Sport as there is no longer a track available - plus the longer length (109" vs 90") and deeper lug will be a benefit.

Looking at the track / driver interface it seems that only two or three driver / track lugs are actually "loaded" or in full contact at any given time with the balance of the lugs either entering or exiting the drive groove.

Bascically I need to know whether or not the tolerances between the two sets of lugs (drivers and track) plus any lug deflection will be sufficient prevent the drivers from eventually trying and succeeding in climbing over an approaching lug.

I plan on swapping out the original drivers which are an odd size for an aftermarket set (Kimpex set for older model year Bravos that have the square shaft). I have done this to several older Ovations in order to install a 121" Hacksaw (works much better than the original track) since again no replacement tracks are available.

Any ideas / thoughts / experience would be a help.

Sounds like you have it figured out, there is not enough difference in pitch that would prvent it from workin it may wear prematurely but will work.
