I went from the stock 151" track to a Skidoo 159 x 2 1/4 x 16 wide and noticed a huge difference in the way the sled worked. Believe it or not, all of a sudden I was the the one digging out stuck Summits. So I thought, if going to a 159 x16 made this much difference. I'm going to 162 x 16 x 2 1/2".
I changed drivers and did just that. Now my sled rocks. I went to a Shockwave adjustable helix and heavy hitter weights ( I hear Super tips are even better). With this setup I can climb at 10,500 RPM and it just goes and goes.
My buddies that have mavericks and I ride a lot together. In the deep stuff last winter the Maverick spins where the Extreme hooks up and lifts the skis in the air (great for going over snowcovered obstacles). We all noticed the difference and several of the Maverick guys are buying camop extremes. For the money though, it's tough to beat a maverick. I bet you can find a 162" for under $200. I know where there's a 162" Apex skid for sale if you need one.
