TRA over reving

yah it seemed to had quite a bit of snow way reved on 1 and still at 6 it seemed to be pulling but not real hard like before mods i have always run comet primary so tra is new to me...i went to 21/47 HYVO and from 144-159 with 10'' big wheels so pretty much starting from scratch

What sled? Add weight, less spring or more helix. List the sled, mods, altitude etc...and someone can probably get you real close on a complete settup.

2001 zx 800 stock engine cmx tunnel 159 2''challenger holz polaris skid zbroz clicker shocks10'' billet wheels 10tooth drivers running 50:1 premix rolled chaincase with 21/47 HYVO gears alternative impact trailing arms fox remote resevoir shocks gutted hood and clutch vent panels digatron and USI skis so i lost quite a bit of sled weight but havent modded engine yet.i ride at 6-10.000feet sled pulled good before mods and just seems to rev to high havent had TRA before so dont know my options do i need new arms?or can you add weight to stock arms.

Might be a good idea to pull both clutches apart to note the setups. Seems odd that it ran fine before and not now? You can add weight to the arms by putting threaded pins with more set screws or heavier pins. You can also bring rpm's down by going to a spring with less finish force. Assuming both clutches are in good shape, find out the set-ups that are in them now and let us know. There are a lot of variables that can lead to high rpm's.

No, taper is different. Find out what springs, ramps, helix etc...and make sure the rolers and bushings are in good shape. You can buy adjustable pin weights from Dalton for about $35.

well i took primary apart and it has a black spring with yellow and purple stripe and the ramps are 293x arms have a little play side to side and rollers have a small amount of play also.should they be free of any play?or is a little o.k.?and i am going to put my roller bearcat secondary on for the next ride and it has an adjustable helix and belt tension i have been told its an erlandson made in kalispell montana.some posts from the old forum said use a yamaha 8nd belt so will try to fit that tomarrow..so if you have any primary suggestions would be helpfull

Set the spring upright on a table, marks to the bottom and read them left to right. Purple/ yellow (160/230) or yellow/purple (100/320)???
Try a new purple/yellow (they sag fairly fast). 300 ramps worked well with the 800. A little play is OK. Use adjustable pins and tune with your clickers on 3 or 4. (8000 rpm tach) Should be good to go.
Can't help you with the BearCat sec, but I think BigCatAK ran one on his ZX. Haven't seen him post for awhile though............
Of course, JMO, good luck
