TPS help please!

I am a new owner of an 06 900 rmk. It has had a mid range bog so I reset the tps. Loosend the idle adjuster and synchronization screw and spring, volts read .685. I put the spring back in and adjusted synch. screw to .685, adjusted the tps to .710 and the idle ajuster to .930. When I started the machine up the idle was at 3100 rpm. Tore it down and did it all over again to find the same thing happen. I adjusted the idle screw to get rpms back down but I think I just defeated the purpose of setting it at .930?? Is this normal or is something else going on?

Im not an expert on snowmobiles but can make my way around them a little. I pulled the throttle cable to open them all the way then close them slowly is there another way to check if the plates are closed all the way?
Thanks for the help

I can almost do this adjustment with my eyes closed now. It was a pain in the ***. Your base line setting is very important. Sounds like your doing it all correctly. The voltage that you get when you remove your sync screw, is random. It's not the same as the video. That's what I found. Make sure that you open and close throttle plates SLOWLY to make sure they are completely closed. I lost sleep when doing my tps, because it gave me such a hard time setting. Little did I know that my tps was hooped, and was giving me very spuratic readings. Popped on a new one, and it set up nicely. Also, inspect your harness while your at it for any breakage in the wires at the plug end. This whole process is an important one. I don't think that there should be any "that should be good enough". Get your measurements exactly on and you will be happy with the results! Good luck bud.:thumb:

You should do this with the cable unhooked at the TB itself. If you leave it on it may prevent the plates from fully closing. Other than that your technique looks fine.

I noticed that a hose clamp has been rubbing on the face of the tps, hasn't rubbed through but is very noticeable. I will unhook the throttle cable from the body and try every thing again. If it still does it I may try a new tps.
Thanks for the help!
