the service manual for the 08s says to torque to 89 lbft. excelerate at low speed not to exceed 20mph and hit the brake 5 times and torque to 89lbft again.
The torque on the 800R is higher then the older sleds because it is a taperd shaft instead of a splined shaft.

Hmmm ... I must've got the "factory option" taper on my '07 then

07 800r is the same as 08 and 09 800r.
The 05's have taper on the end of the crank, but isn't the shaft between the two sheaves splined?
I don't know alot about the older rev's. 08 xp is my first doo.
