TORPY 2010-2011 Riding Season!!

Its almost time to pull the sleds out of the shadows so lets hope for a good winter and maybe some more stable snow conditions.

Got our rooms booked at Peaks in Revy for December 2,3,4,5,6. Watched all of the new (and old) sled videos again. Tinker and tune. And wait. Sigh.

Any snow up there up? Is there much riding up the Gleason or the Logan?

There's been some light dustings on the peaks but it's gone as fast as it comes. The mcgregor area is starting to get fairly limited with all the caribou closures.
It was snowing here in mcmurray today, might be a good sign of an early winter.

When do you guys generally start riding up there? Will be coming up for a day or two in the next month or just before christmas for work and was thinking of throwing the sled in the truck if anyone wants to go riding and show me around? Wells, Yanks, anywhere around PG?

Made it out on the weekend and it was pretty good. Couple icy spots going up the burn but the top was decent. Probably 4-5 feet up top with a minor base, still a few land mines as one fellow piled up some a arms. Definitely nice to ride in on a flat surface for a change!!

We parked at mcgregor camp, snow was a little better than a foot there but a short ways in the pass it was good going.

Was out yesterday, our crew made first tracks into the back of the torp past the canyon, there is just enough snow for that, but be very cautious for rocks still. The burn still sucks ballz. Best snow we found was right in the back

Last weekend was awesome conditions, other than a few stumps at the bottom the burn is in great shape. Very deep up top and snowing mad on the way out, trails not to bad either.

Headed out tomorrow for Valemount. Just wondering if anybody would have any updates on the conditions in the Valemount area.

Good ride yesterday, was amazed at the conditions , it hasen't even started to melt yet, there was about 6" of fresh and back further in there was some good climbing powder. Trail in on the upper Torpy was brutal though.
