tork screws on the 05 m series secondary clutch

is there any other type of screw that i could use on my 05 m6 i broke 2 of them this year and doesnt look like they hold up to well anyone use anything that i could get from somewhere else

Use heat to loosen the loctite, use then one time and they will hold up fine

put a torx bit on it and smack it with a hammer easier than heat it breaks the loctite loose

As far as I know they updated the screws from 05 I had some failures on some old clutch's and then replaced with the new screws and never had a problem....

I now replace all screws with new ones when I pull apart my secondary.... Nothing like having the secondary explode on ya.....

Secondary screws

Make sure you update to running 9 screws instead of six, if you have the old 05 style clutch.!!!

Keep a tap around and run it in the threads carefully and clean the old loc tite out of the threads. Loc tite will not work correctly 100% of the time unless you use primer /electrical contact cleaner and no cheap carb cleaner!

A couple of shots on the stock screws and you better retire them to emergency spares. They are a little pricey from cat, take the time to research the industrial supply catlogues, bought a box of 100 several years back, about gone parceling them out to friends, but one stretch good, can them.

Stainless steel screws have some unique characteristics, unforunately one is being like taffey when it comes to stretching.........don't go there.

I have tapped out a good number of stripped helix threads and put in a few HELI_COILS, you don't have to throw everything away, but heating the locktite when removing will help prevent breaking and already stretched screw. Good impact air gun often breaks the skinny flimsy screws. Gentle and careful!!

could i get a pic of the allen bolt on the clutch and i think if i remember correctly i think i have only 3 screws in the plate

p.s. does anyone know how to get broken torx screws out looks like the heads just poped off i didnt know if i should drill them out or what

i sheared off 6 of the 9 at once. luckily just the heads came off and left enough of the bolt to get vise grips on. used a little heat and had no problem.
i cant get my pics sized down to fit on this site, so if you need a pic, pm me your email...mm
