Torco Race Fuel Concentrate

I have an 8 gallon tank, so here is the math...(I need to get to 100+/- octane)

Race Fuel-$7.85/Gallon (when buying barrel) per tank fill up-$62.80
AvGas- $3.89 Per tank fill up- $31.10
91 ($1.93)+ Torco (32oz. bottle= $18 or $.56/ounce)- 8 gallons of premium ($15.44 + 24 ounces of Torco ($13.49)= $28.93 per tank

the prices are obviously flexible regionally, but are clearly directionally accurate...Additionally, some may be comfy with avgas, some not, some might think torco is snake oil...have done enough research personally to have zero worries about it...and it is easier to mix with the quart containers, than toluene, or xlene, or avgas, or transporting race fuel...

the whole goal is to understand your net octane needs, and mix from there...I am not interested in paying more than I need to....atleast for fuel (and need to = what is the right thing, not interested in being cheap)

agreed. and if you buy it 5 gal. cans its cheaper, looks like its going for about $235 a can shipped now. thats $11.75 a qaurt. thats $1.17 added to your gallon of fuel cost, what ever it is at the time or area.

it is a boost calculator and you can customize it for your elevation compression etc. etc. and it will tell you essentially "safe" operating octane requirements for your given situation...(it has a chart for apex, vector, and Nytro, make sure your using the right one...

for me I run 10lbs. from 4-9k ft. and stock compression

I am figuring this right?
Stock HP Comp Elevation Boost octane
150.0 8.8 4500.0 14.0 90.9

here is what I get for my Nytro...

Here is what I come up with for you...one of the tricky but critical factors is the base octane...but moral of the story, you should be running right at 100 octane...

yep your right I didn,t notice the base octane had been changed, MTdream is your intake timing changed or did you leave it stock, I noticed on your calculation you have changed from the stock setting that will make a difference as well.

i would think that its compatable w av gas 101, so that would give a 115 octane /5 gallons av to 32 oz, i believe c16 is 116 octane

Does anyone know if this stuff is available at all in Canada, I can't seem to find a dealer that can bring it in??

HMMMM COLOUR ME BAD FIGURED HE SAID IT WAS A POST:o

Lots of people say AV gas is a big no no. Can a sled be set up to run av gas? My friend has been running straight av gas in his t-rx1 since 04 and he now runs it in his t-nytro. He has never had any problems with it so far.

if i wanted to haul all my fuel around with me i would run av gas but i'm funny that way i'd rather pull up to the pumps and blend in race. now i'll be using the rest of my torco and getting more next year!
