Top end OEM piston kit cost ??

check ebay.....after i ordered the wiseco kit, i found it there for $190

at my polaris dealer.....the "stock" parts were $100 more than i payed for the wiseco set up

apparently the wiseco kit is more sensitive to heat, and needs a proper warm up every time, or risk losing the motor again

im pretty sure it applies to factory stuff too though

Just go to partspitstop link above and over two pistons, new head orings and cylinder base gaskets. I don't think there is a part number for a kit with all of it. When you search the parts on the site put in 06 rmk 900 as the model for the pistons and gaskets. If you have an 05 go to the 05 parts and order the washers that go on top the cylinder base bolts part number 7556234.

Pistons 2203098 2x $92.29
large head orings 5411359 2x $5.17
small head orings 5411675 2x $8.72
base gaskets 5812531 2x $6.86
cylinder washers 7556234 8x$1.32

Total cost $235.40

Can I re-use the rings from 05 pistons. 2100 miles on rings.

Looks like OEM rings are 39.00 x 2 = 80 bucks.

New pistons come with rings and pins. Don't try to reuse rings, you are asking for problems if you do. Also 05 rings are different than 06 rings.

I agree with Z man...IMO $80.00 is cheap considering what kind of pain in the *** it is to get the engine out...and you might only get another 1000 miles out of the used parts, and then do it all over again.

WHY!!!, lol when that ring breaks. and scores up the cylinder then runs lean, breaks a piston skirt off and sends a chunk out the block and jams pieces into the rod bearing...

with a 4 stroke i might risk it.. but ive learnt my lesson with 2 strokes its not easy to tow these things out in 2+feet of powder.

I didn't notice the word "kit" next to piston on the parts list row.

Im just trying to spend my 500 bucks for next season smart.

06 mounts, SLP torque arm, SLP stop, 06 pistons....

Runs great,, just after it get hot ,, like 50 miles it seems to vibrate more.. Only when fully heat soaked to mounts.. Must be a sign of torn mounts.
Not a belt eater.

Compfusion front mounts, 06 rear mounts, 06 pistons.

Don't worry about torque arm or stop if you get the compfusion mounts.

Fixed it for ya.

True but I was giving Colin's new design the benefit of the doubt that it would make the crossmember strong enough by itself and he said 500 was his budget.

CompFusions new improved mount.

Yes, these are the new ones, i specifically asked... I bought them used,, two rides on them. A good person on this site sold them too me,, he changed to 975cc and added compF. and never got it running right. He parted out the sled and i got the mounts... There like new.

From what i understand the "New" version is a higher durometer urethane.
RED...

Is it suspect that the additonal stiffness of the urethane creates the crack @ steering notch ?

i assume you got the compfusion mounts from LUBA..he has the new style urethane pucks yes, but NOT the updated mag side plate that Zane was asking you about.

but either way, you will have piece of mind using colins mounts, i have then in all 4 of my sleds...never looked back...

according to colin, here is what he stated on the cracked OEM crossmembers

The Mag-side plate has been lengthened over 2 inches and fitted with additional bolts to add support for those choosing to use the OEM cross-member. These cross-members sem to be failing more often with age and mileage accumulating on the sleds.

i started the whole billet crossmember ordeal and sent the idea to my good buddy Jeff (franz) and he made it WAY better then my original x-member and continues to make them better as he plays with them.

i would be willing to sell you one of my "FIRST" batch billet cross-members when i get the new updated ones from Jeff...i have 2 of them i will sell, and 1 is spokan for as of now...

let me know..you dont want to do all this motor work, install the mounts and then go a few hundred miles and bust your OEM front crossmember...you will have to pull the motor out all over again to go to a billet one anyways.
