Tools

I use my dirt tool roll with a few things removed. I ditch my tire levers, spoke wrench, etc. I add American wrenches and Allen keys for my Timbersled.

I would put one together rather than buying a tool kit complete. As Bend said above, you’ll need metric and standard, as well as some Allen’s. I also like to carry QuikSteel, zip ties, wire and a few bolts.

Rule of thumb- if you’re using it on the bike in the garage, consider taking it with you in the pack.

I can't believe I'm hearing the Timbersled has imperial fasteners...but surely you are joking right?

Every bike in the world is manufactured and fastened with metric fasteners and Timbersled goes and makes a snow bike retrofit kit for those bikes in imperial...WTF? They must know we all have metric wrenches already...why?

You can always strap on a second Pelican box for the duplicate wrenches, etc. :face-icon-small-hap

Thanks for the response! I have plenty of duplicate tools so I think I’ll just buy a tool roll and go that route. I have my gas can and MA storage box so no more room on the tunnel.

Sounds like if you ride with a Timbersled guy you won't have to carry any tools. He will have them...LOL

Dirtbikegear makes an awesome tool roll.

I always work on my bike out of my Camelback, even in the garage so I am sure I have what I need always. I do the same thing as above and ditch a few of my summer tools, namely my tire repair stuff. I carry all the bush repair items like quick steel, wire, tape. I carry first aid supplies as well. For the timbersled yes I carry a few extra wrenches in American and a few extra bolts, couple tunnel side bolts and an extra ski center bolt. I also carry an extra idler sprocket since they are plastic and the same for both idlers. All my tools and first aid are in pouches so I transfer everything from weekend to weekend as needed between the camelback and either avybag or tunnel toolbox. My toolkit has had to do nothing so far for my Honda or my Timbersled but has come in handy for others with their KTM's and Yeti kits....they were carrying almost nothing.

Everyone gives me crap for the weight of my Camelback...until they need something. We are too far to walk, and I ride the dirtbike solo often. Save the speech I know the dangers, unfortunately if I waited for others to ride every time I would spend my life waiting. I don't ride the snowbike by myself.
