Took the first step

I just picked up a 2013 WR450 last night. Now to get the snow check on Monday and get ready to ride next winter!

Coming off a TT350 the WR is an amazing machine!

The WR is a great platform

Just get the competition kit and the GYTR exhaust tip that will bring here to life.

It is one of the best off road bikes I have ever put a leg across.

For tight stuff you need to dial down to the lowest map on the bottom end

to have smooth dellivery.

On the wide open map it hits hard for sand and open dessert racing. That is what I use on the snow bike and it hangs well with

the YZ 450s and KTM530s we have around here on snow donkeys.

The only thing that really sucks is the poor starting on the button, hope yamaha will figure that one out soon.

The reliabillity of the Yamaha engines makes me feel better on those hard long full power climbs--Aways had real good luck with Yamis.

cheers...........

I would be interested to hear why the YZ450's around you are snow donkeys?

Congrats on the new purchase! Get used to the bike and when you slap that Horse on it'll be a riot. Welcome to the club!

Thanks for the welcome. I'm not new to tracks, had sleds and atvs with tracks for a few years, but the bike looks like a lot more fun.

I guess I'm gonna have to get a programmer, the WR seems like a lot to handle on tight technical stuff where the TT350 was easy. Seems like there is something wrong with the suspension, because a slight twist of the throttle and I can't seems to keep the front wheel on the ground. :D Hopefully I can tame it down a bit till I get used to having that kind of power. The dealer took care of the throttle stop and the exhaust before I even asked. We don't care for that Cali BS up here in North Idaho!

Only the upper crust rides Mt horses us regular folk here just ride Snow Donkeys:face-icon-small-sho

Not sure who came up with it but it did stick --- maybe we are just a a tad strange :D
Come to think of it no one here calls them a MT horse just a snow bike or snow donkey.

But we sure have fun with them.:cheer2:

Ahahaha I see.... when you say Snow Donkey I think they are pigs in the woods compared to other Horses. Now I get it!
