Too late to start?

I am wondering how much longer the snow will be around in the ellensburg area and how good it is.

I would also need a place that rents sleds, as I am waiting to see which sled I like before I drop the money on my first one. So is there anyplace that rents longtracks for a decent price? I am around the Bellevue area, so I could pick it up around here and take it out there.

I am definetely a beginner(have only ridden trail sleds), but I did ride for a week outside the park at yellowstone Dec 07, and a couple times before that. Is there anyone willing to go with me if I do find a place to rent for a day?

Thank you!

That looks pretty good but their rates seem a little steep. I think in Yellowstone the longtracks we could rent would have been 165 per day. That also could have been because there is a lot of competition in yellowstone compared to washington.

If I do rent from there, anybody up for teaching me how to tear up the powder?

sled rentals...

butter18c- Cascade playtime has about what the going rates are in the northwest. There is an outfit in the tacoma area that rent s for a bit cheaper but you will have to trailer his stuff up and back and so there is the inconvience factor that you will not have to deal with if you rent from cascade playtime. Like it was said before if you rent during the week (mon-thurs.) the rates are considerably cheaper..

If you want Yellowstone rates then you will have to make a trip to Yellowstone, which is a great place to ride anyways and you could rent a different sled each day and then you should know right there and then which one you like the best!!!

Just talked to the guys over at CascadePlaytime, and it looks like I will probably do that.

Are there any clubs or groups I could tag along with? I dont really want to be riding alone in case something happens

Kinda late in the season to be riding out of Cascade's shop area.....Most of us are heading up to higher ground about now. Be glad to go along if you want to wait till next season; Just mainly riding up around Sno pass areas the rest of this season....U might call ahead to Cascade and see if they have others signed up for a day you're interest in. They might none mind you coming with them? Just an idea.

I havent been out in two weeks, is it getting bleak at Salmon la sac. I'm sure bumpy is an understatement but I love going up to the back side of Kacheese (sp) ridge trough frenchie this time of year.

well if its not too good right now I think I'll just wait until Christmas or Spring Break next year in college to go down to Yellowstone to see which sled I like. Thank you all for your help!
