Tollgate Riders Invade Halfway

The Tollgate ride in Halfway is almost here (March 20-22) we are expecting 25-30 riders for this trip. Most are coming up on Friday (bluejays group will arrive on Thursday the sneeks)) so we have scheduled a short ride lead by Bluemountainsnoguide we plan to leave the clear creek snopark at 1 pm if you are late will be on channel 6-1. Dinner is planned for 6 pm at Wild Bill's where we can finalize plans for Saturday (do they take reservations? Should we warn them we are coming?) more info to follow watch this thread or the Tamarack Inn web site for last minute updates...remember the Tollgate Trail Finders annual Dumb Butt award has been won more at Halfway than any other snowmobile area so we should have some good times coming.

For those you have not been my ride on friday is a 99% off trail , cross country extravaganza , experienced riders movement.7 meadows x 10 Mainly cause I am not sure what snow conditions will be like, could be spring could be deeep! Trail Ride to Fish Lake will be saturday.

How was the snow?

Snow was a little heavy, but Friday and Saturday were bright, blue and maybe a little warm. Didn't see many other riders so the untracked areas were everywhere. We made it to Table Top, Sugar Loaf, the lookout and the warming cabin. We played at 3 different lakes and we could have spent many more day's playing in untouched areas. Already planning for a return trip.

How was the snow on the way out of the snow park? We are going to go April 1,2,3,4,5

It was getting low, you may not be able to ride from the snow park in April.

will they allow you to follow the snow? We are still getting fresh snow as of today here. Is there a local we can contact?

Hey hillboy.... the snow is getting scare at the snow park, but still doable, but yes you can follow the snow. I have done it in the past. last year we rode out of the sno park till the end of April.

So is the whole family coming?

Whole family but Kielee our daughter has moved up to a piped 800 escape and was super aggresive in cooke, she shocked all of us.

Like I need any more from an 11 year old. I hope we can make it down next week with the family, we have had 18 inches tonight supposed to sunshine Thursday.

Well right now it's snowing hard up there. Then to be nice a few days and then back to rain/snow in town.
