Togwotee riding

Heading out to Togwotee for the first time this month. How easy is it to find areas with some good boondocking or untouched powder. Just looking to get some quality riding out of an unfamiliar area.

Thanks In Advance

Finding terrain is easy, if the weather is bad though it's getting back to the lodge that's the hard part. That place will sock in real fast.

From what I hear getting a guide out there can be worth it's weight in gold.

Just got back from first trip to Togwotee. 5 of us got a guide for the first time in our lives. We only used him one day and it was worth every penny. Sun came out the last 2 days and helped us get our bearings. We requested extreme backcountry boondocking and our guide pushed us hard for 70 miles that day, never crossing our own tracks or anyone elses. Fresh powder and tree riding at a pace that we loved. We only clocked 28 miles on day 2 because we had to be mindfull of not getting lost.

Our guide was Lefty, the amazing 1 armed snowmobiler. This guy is an amazing rider and we rode our butts off to just keep up. It's something you would have to see first hand to believe it, but I swear to God, Lefty is one of the best backcountry riders I've seen.

Did I say it's worth getting a guide?
