I have been trying to plan a mid December trip out to Togwotee, how reliable is snow in the middle of December? I'm from middle Idaho, and you generally can't count on ridable snow until Christmas, therefore I'm hesitant to book for the 15th of December. Historically how deep has it been at the Lodge, and then up high? Is it a risky thing I'm planning?

It hard to give an good answer to BUT.......there will be snow..........guaranteed! In the mean time, save this "clicky".......hit it once a day from now until 12/15............by the time you arrive..........you'll barely be able to stand it. (A your friends might not be able to stand you anymore either........but they'll get over it

Last year by the middle of November, they had several FEET on snow & the riding was incredible! I hope this year is the same. Just watch the weather & of course the webcam. I try to look at the can at least once a day and it's already snowed up there a few time. Just keeps melting when the weather gets warm. Looks like it's going to really start getting cold though, so it might start to stay around.

It's not much yet, but it's at least a start on this season.
