I have been riding Polaris since 2011. I am giving hard thoughts to a Viper with the mcxpress 270 kit for next season. Oh im not getting rid of my 2 pro's just going to possibly add another pony to the stable. Anyone else thinking of this?

if it fits your riding style go for it. I dont like 4 stroke turbos personally.

Its better than the cat version. Evolution powersports has a nice turbo kit coming out by the sounds of it as well as the one kits that Chris Brown is running, its a boost-it turbo i believe and has low end power for the tree riding he has he loves it.

I spent a few hours riding one yesterday. It was a '15 mtx with the MPI 180hp turbo kit, same set up you get with a snowcheck. Did pulls back to back with my 13 pro and I was VERY impressed. It took more effort in the technical riding than the pro does, but that's expected since stock it's 100lbs more, but it did everything I would do on my pro. Climbing it just kept going, it didn't dive in downhill maneuvers nearly as bad as the 12-13 cats I've been on, and felt very comfortable and confidentlce inspiring almost instantly.

If I could afford to keep my pro and get a viper I would do it in a heartbeat. If I was for sure getting a 15, I would do it in a heartbeat. It's finally a technical riding sled with the reliable hp to be a chute climber as well. The only reason I'm not snowchecking is there is only a few hundred miles on my 13 and due to the horrible snow year I probably couldn't sell it for 8k. I think with a diet and some skis the viper would be on top of the Mountian segment, however I don't think it's $7k better than my 13.

I think it would be a great "Addition". I wouldn't give up my Pro's for it, but if I had the need for another sled in the trailer, I would buy one. Like you, I would put an MCX on it rather than an MPI. Had an MCX 240 on my Nytro and really thought it was a great kit. Best of luck in your purchase.

270hp and keep the pros? In a heartbeat if you wanted another sled and the cash is willing and waiting. Screw brand loyalty. Wish I could say I was thinking of this, too. If you needed permission around here, I don't think anyone would deny you. If you listen carefully when you're riding it, you will hear us cheering. Good luck!

I thought it would be cool to have a new Viper to go with the Pro. However, I've seen too many friends try the same thing in the past with a Nytro or M1100. They climb well but sooner or later you are in that ravine and need to get the sled all the way on it's side and ride it that way. I think I would love the reliability, smooth running sled but that weight just never goes away. I can't spend $4k on reducing weight.

My '13 Pro is turboed and it climbs awesome and crawls out of just about anything. I'm still trying to get the tuning right but I think that is coming soon. I just feel that if I had my '13 Pro turbo and a '15 Viper turbo, I'd eventually always put the Pro in the trailer to ensure I don't get wore out and can do all the stuff I want to do.

I'm swapping over, selling the Pro and ordered a Viper 162 with the MPI turbo. I think it may just be the perfect compromise between handling and reliable power.

I currently own both extremes.
