To pipe or not to pipe??????

Here's the deal, I have a 12' Assault that has a PAR head, hps can, slp clutching (weights and both springs) and Mtntx fix kit. I found a slp pipe and a dynojet commander V for $430. Would I see a huge gain with adding the pipe and dynojet or not really? Also can I add the pipe without the fuel contoller or is it a must?

Fuel controller is a must with the pipe. I rode one with a pipe and not worth the money if you ask me. I rode my 11 pro with just clutching changes which helped and a par head which was a waste of money, and my 14 is all stock and runs flawless.

Stock rocks, the gains from engine mods, especially a pipe, just aren't near enough to justify the cost. More than twice the price for less than half the gain...

My 14 with just the par head I'm running 4.8g more then the 14 stock. We both have mds weights , And same size tracks. So yes a head works good. I tried 2 different pipes, have to take weight out. So the pipes I tried lost power.

My stock '14 ran side by side with '12 SLP Pipe, Commander, and PAR head. Buddy has roughly 40-50 lbs on me, I don't think its worth the $$$.

My 13 with the SLP pipe and PAR head flat worked. Have to get the mapping and clutching dialed but a stock sled would not even come close to running with it. I think you see larger gains with the pipe stacked with the head. Just a pipe I wouldn't waste the money. Obviously since you are already running the head and other things you are looking for just a little more and the pipe will give you that.

Don't expect monster gains but it will be better no question if setup properly. I ran them stacked with MDS clutching and it was spot on.

Fuel controller is definitely required and will be part of why you see a gain.

To me best bang for the buck is to gear down I geared my 163 19/45 and it will still hit 72 mph, and it is a lot quicker and more responsive. Cheap to do since u have the chain case.

Was you able to use the stock chain? I have a 19 tooth in the garage I was gonna try with my 42 on the bottom. I think I'm gonna pass on the pipe and controller. Doesn't sound like its worth it.
