To Buy Leftover new 2011 or snowchecked 2012?

My dealer has a new leftover 163 Pro pull start.I ordered a black 155 Pro with ES.If I can get him to sell me the holdover for 2K less than the 2012 I ordered What would you do?Warranty is a non issue as I will get 2 full seasons regardless.I also wonder what small refinements Polaris may make to the 2012 other than the extra tunnel traction.

Keep in mind the cost of adding estart.

Some guys will tell you that it is unnecessary, but when mine went out I really missed it.

take the $2000 you will save and buy a 13.6 cut head, can, fox shocks, and some tunnle braces..... I was going to sell my sled as i was told by one of those "in the know" guys that polaris would come out with a new engine for 2012. That didn't happen and the new cat looks like a POS IMO. So i will be riding my old, beaten up high milage 2011 assault for another season.... :face-icon-small-hap

Ohh and e-start is for girls.

Yeah I,m going to try an work a deal on that 163 because I really like the extra flotation of the longer track.I thought it would be an issue in the tite boondocking I do but its a benefit as I can climb out of some real tite nasty stuff easier than my 155 D800.I will miss the e start but in this economy 2K is a huge savings

I was looking for a left over '11 pro rmk when I snowchecked mine. Only reson i snowchecked was I wasn't finding any 163's. I would have jumped all over that one because it'd give me time to get it big bored over summer with the savings from not snowchecking. Now I've agreed to ride it stock for at least a year first :(

If this were my decision:

Buy the hold over....knowing the stock shocks SUCK. The stock running boards SUCK...the stock 163 track SUCKS.

Fox Evol R fronts $995
Fox Evol R/ Zero Pro rear $855
Better Boards $215
163 track trim FREE OF CHARGE

Then sell your stock walker setup and recover somewhere around 40% of the $1850 spent on the AWESOME FOX setup.

You mention the warranty of 2 years so we will assume you want to leave that aspect alone so I won't recommend the Power Addiction Head for this application. (for anyone not concerned with such matters it's the shiznit)

Fixed with your spare $2,000 and have one of the funnest and finest sleds ever put on snow. Saved you somewhere around $500 for an extra belt and some fuel! (you could also do a clutch kit...stock works decent..Carl's works BETTER)

Net results is you have almost what I HAVE A YEARS WORTH OF JOY riding. DO IT! Thank me when you've ridden it. (also note anyone boo hooing electric start has not been around one enough...AWESOME but I'd rather have shocks and Better Boards and sacrifice the luxury start)

Good advice Rob.The BB are an absolute must as the stock evac sucks after dealing with build up all day o my demo ride. What are you talking about on the track trim just the outer .4" of the fingers?Brandnew stock shocks would sell fast.Just how much better are those shocks than stock as I am not a sky pilot?

I'm not sure what $ numbers you guys are talking about, but I did the trade in/trade up Polaris deal with the $1000 rebate on a '12 Pro so bottom line is my dealer says if he could get $8500 for my '11 Pro 155 this spring he'd take it. My sled is in great shape, not a mark in it. Prolly around 600 miles with warranty.

So how much money would you guys have on the table to play with at $8500 for a used '11 VS what you would pay for a new '12. $8500 seemed like a decent deal on that sled. EW

Short Vid

Get the 163. while your waiting for snow yard the stock track for a camo extreme and cut your boards off and bolt up some airframes.

Agreed 100%....Air Frames and Camo Extreme. Ridden every set-up out there and this is the way to go....bar none. And if you don't believe check what Keith Curtis has. Just sayin'.....
