To all the haters of a 07 800r summits

I have rode the 07' 800 with a 151 and 159. It was not a bad sled to play on and boondock with. But for deep snow and big hill climbs I prefere my 1000 but thats just me. If I were to get second sled it would be either a 07' 800 or a XP.

only 20 people have had problems with this sled? LOL. are you kidding me. pull your head out of the snow and look around. i have so many friends with problems on the 07 800r including myself, i have run out of fingers to count them on and we all got ours from a few small dealers in Cali. if only 20 people have problems then my group of riders is over half of the 20. LOL. so far i have burned up 15 belts in 1700 miles, had the clutches rebuilt so many times i cant remeber, blown the motor, and blown the chaincase. i did some figuring the other day and since it started snowing in the Tahoe area this year my sled has been at the dealer getting fixed more days then i have had it sitting at home.

I do agree when the sled is running it rips. those days are far and few between.

Damn GaperKiller 15 belts in 1700 miles you must run the hell out of your sled? I got over 1000 on my 07 X belt and no problems except for clutching updates.

You say that you got the sled last week. I liked mine for the first three weeks and then it all went down hill from there so all i have to say to you is just wait and it will go down hill.

i must be one of the lucky 20 because I blew my engine up real good on my 07 800r. Really like the sled but if the motor blows once the warranty is up, it may be my last brp sled.

I hate unreliable sleds.

15 belts in 1700 miles?:eek: That is hard to believe, we have well over 2000kms on ours of DEEP powder riding and have blown 1 or 2 belts. At around the 2000km mark the engine did blow up, but it was under warranty. Other than that the sled has been flawless! We just added the SLP kit which brought it to the next level (highly suggest it). I believe alot has to do with dealer set up, as I have seen in my experiences.

Awsome sled!!

07 rocked

Mine ran like a champ and climbed like an ape, I love it. Gas and oil was all it ever needed this season...
right up to 1700 miles, then she blew like a time bomb. That's ok, I got the free 2 year engine warranty. New engine coming next week. Yee! Haa! Thanks BRP!
I'm buying an 08 nytro this spring, turbo'd this summer. Daddy will be sittin on top of the mountain next year and the next 5 after that.
Boondock like a Rev? Climb like an Apex?
Oh Yea, it's only money!! :beer;:beer;

I hove an 07 800r 151 and it's got 1700 miles on it. It ran like a rocket from day 1 :D -never had an ounce of trouble with the power plant. Put my 1st belt on at about 1525m, only because it had a little wear and the clutch was starting to act up a little ,it had'nt had its final update yet.I have an 06 800ho and I though that thing rocked,,,,and it did-till the "R" came to town. Hands down IMO these sleds are the best thing to happen to man since T&A!:D:beer; In my pre-Doo era I ran cats and had alot of stater,clutch,spark plug , fuel pump and oil pump problems - there was always some sort of Fu??in problem , now I just run cats over .:cool: In the last 3 seasons my boy and I have put on over 5500m on our 3 Doos and never once was broke down on the trail side or had any out of pocket expense- I never imagined that a sled could run sooo good. :) I got to admit, I'm a little nervous with all the negativity on this forum- if anyone else has had good luck with theirs I sure would like to hear about it. Thanks for hearing me out.

I actually own 4 sleds ( 3 now that one was stolen), an 07 800r, 04 pro-xr, 01 800 rmk, and the stolen 03 800 summit.

The truck was found but the sled has disappeared.
