To all the haters of a 07 800r summits

Just bought a 07 800r summit last week and that sled fukcen rocks. I have a turbo apex and will probally never ride it again. that sled has lots of power, you can throw it around like nothing. The fun factor is crazy. I test rode a summit, dragon, and a nitro like them in that order. and rode for almost a week and had a smile the entire time. im mad at myself for waiting so long to get one. Ive never been brand loyal because each one has there time in the spot light. and for those who say its a ticking time bomb, well if it goes fukc it, its well worth it. I think the hype on this sled is bullshut, best sled i have rode yet. They sell the most sleds and only about 20 people have had problems with them. not saying its their fault, maybe a lemon or the dealers fault, but mine was set up perfect, and all that was done was a screen kit , tunnel refor. kit, and a quiet can. rode that thing easy one day and hard three days and no belt, clutch, or crank problems. didn't even smell the belt or feel it slip. It get my stamp of approval:lips:

i also had a 07 xrs 151, with a dynoport pipe and can, that sled rocked...

i had a m1000 and a doo 1000 riding partners with mods similar to me and guess who was the leader... they just could not beleive how the sled ran so strong... to this day they both still think i had a BB done to it, lol

i did have lots of cluching issues, but that was my only problem, motor ran all season like a champ, 1300km of hard climbing

dont take backseat to the 1000s, show them what it has:D

I thought the 4 '07's in our group (including mine) were the ONLY '07's that ran good and had no problems! Wierd!
I will say they still need to fix the roller and bushing issue on the primary, about 4-500 miles and they will be shot. But not a huge deal. Awesome sleds!.....knocking on wood ;)

I really like mine too....the price was right, the motor rips, the suspension is butter and it looks cool. Best part is the fun factor....it wheelies, it jumps, it carves, it does whatever the hell you want it too. Stuff that'll send you OTB on many sleds, you can just bounce right over.

Climbing, I've found it compares VERY well to any stock and many somewhat modded sleds. M1000 owners hate it....one of them was telling others on the hill that my sled was "piped" (its got a can) and had "a bunch of other mods" (vent kit? risers??). I don't really care, just out for a good time, but it was funny nonetheless.

I must be part of the "f'ed over 20" club?

Glad you're happy with your sled but drop the crack habit before it causes permanent damage...;)

Mine finally runs well, holds rpm's and doesn't eat a belt every ride...it only took a whole season for BRP and my dealer to get it right! Plus a ton of wrenching and money on my part. Now if the pin stays in the "grenade" for the rest of the season, I got no complaints.

How many miles did you say you got on that 07? :D

Aaaaaammen!

Three of us have 07's and love them to death! Never had an issue with any of them. Everything you said about them was true, best sled I've been on

Glad you liked it, But It dont come anywhere close to a turbo apex as far as power goes.... The handling is allright in my book and there are alot more than 20 guys with problems with the sled. Would you like to buy a second one???

i ride with 3 07s and there ALL in at motor tech in golden on a regular basis 2 have new 08 motors , there great sleds when they run right thats just not very often , mabey 4 out of 5 weekends

I loved mine while I broke it in for the first 300 miles, when I started riding it hard the clutches went bad quick. I got them re-done, three or four times, it ran good for one trip each time I had it in. That was last year, this year I had the final fix done twice, I had it done the last time on 3/30/08, I got a new belt under warranty, I rode it easy on 3/1/08 to break the belt in, took it out on 3/2/08 and the crank went, no more sleddin on the old XRS. She is a dandy when it's runnin right, but I expected to run right a little more than a couple of hundred miles out of the thirteen hundred miles I had it before it blew. I hope you enjoy yours to the fullest and it turns out to be a good one.

I had a 07 159 XRS... Great fun... The second best sled made... Wait till you get an 08 or 09 XP... Better in all areas.. Mostly the fun factor.. You are correct the 1000 guys will hate you.. whaa whaaa whaaa! :):beer;:beer;:beer;:beer;:beer;

Good to hear! all of last year I kept on hearing about people having problems but I put on almost 1k miles and never had one bit of problems with mine or my dads! I loved that sled! :D

I have the choice between a xrs 151 and a x 159 what one do you think is the better sled?
If you like deep pow, get the 59, I never noticed the extra length. I don't like the look of the XRS so I bought an X, highly doubt it's giving up much with different shocks and hood.

I said i didnt want to get into a pissing match with what sleds are better but here we go. Yes my apex can climb a hill straight up faster, was 1.5 times more horsepower. BUT IT COST ME 3 TIMES THE PRICE TO DO IT. then i realized i dont need to be king of the hill, just want to have a kick azz time! this sled had 638 miles on it when i bought it, rode almost 400 more and no problems. Yes the warr. is good till begining of Jan. and i only paid 5,800 cash out the door. its a 07 summit 800r. Hel l my turbo was close to that. Just saying that for the price off the sled nothing compares. was willing to pay more if it was worth it for another brand but nothing came close in my mind. All around best sled. Ive owned every brand but ski doo till now and am as happy as ever. thought about a xp but i think ill wait 2 or 3 years then ill be onboard, but cant imagine it can get much better than this!!!
The only problem i had was after parking it in the garage i noticed a puddle in the garage the next day?????

TURNED OUT TO BE melted SNOW:D:beer;:beer;:D

only 20 people have had problems with this sled? LOL. are you kidding me. pull your head out of the snow and look around. i have so many friends with problems on the 07 800r including myself, i have run out of fingers to count them on and we all got ours from a few small dealers in Cali. if only 20 people have problems then my group of riders is over half of the 20. LOL. so far i have burned up 15 belts in 1700 miles, had the clutches rebuilt so many times i cant remeber, blown the motor, and blown the chaincase. i did some figuring the other day and since it started snowing in the Tahoe area this year my sled has been at the dealer getting fixed more days then i have had it sitting at home.

I do agree when the sled is running it rips. those days are far and few between.

i like that...i wish my sled was piped!!!

sled rips

have the 07 151 with slp head, y pipe, can, and v-force reeds. only people going higher or boon dock better (any brand) are those with better skill than me. everyone else gets to watch. some times sleds need some tlc and good dealer to work with. i had all the problems, but never lost hope. sled has 1200miles and only in shop at start of season for slp kit install. changed belt once and have it for my spare.

good times

1200 miles on my 159 xrs, sled has ripped since day one (to be fair I bought a holdover this year). Only problems I have had are the y-pipe bolts backing out and the ecm getting wet, I consider both my fault for not checking sooner!
