Tips for installing jerry gas can on 2012 X

Any tips for installing my new gas can on my 2012 Summit X.

First one I have had so just wondering?

Also there are two caps, one with a spout and one with out.
Which one do most people use?

If I remember correctly they now come with both spouts and you need to carry both with you.

Are there different sets of directions?

The holes in the template for the XP Summit do not match the brackets that I have.

Make sure yours is for the xp and not the rev because I know the brackets are differnt for the 2. I also remember whem mounting the one on my buddys 08 xp It really does not say to mount close to the tail light or close to the seat and I have seen them both ways and both worked fine, but we did mount his close to the seat so you don't have that extra weight over the very end of the sled

If you look on the tunnel there are Xs stamped into the tunnel. mounting marks. Ill have to look at a friends. My 08 and 11 had them.

make sure you can still get in to the seat storage I havent put mine on yet.
