Tipped up rails?

Anyone have tipped up rails on thier mountain sled? How are they working? I am looking to have IceAge build me some 162 rails with the last 6-8" tipped up for better turning like the Nytro and fabcraft rails.

If you want to wheelie there great, but for mountain riding on a sled with good HP they suck, way to much ski lift. All depends on what a guy wants to achieve.

Ice age makes a good product.

polaris?

ummm polaris does ??? i dont think so, are you sure about that?

my brother has an '01 rmk800 144" and it does NOT have tipped rails...

how are the tipped rails in the powder? still works like a long track right?

100% sure. That was one of their selling points with the GenII and Xlite skid frame back in 2000.

If your brother has an RMK that is 2000 or newer the stock rails were tipped.

I PROMISE.
I owned a 2000 for a year, and then bought a 2001. I ust sold my 2001 rails in January. They were tipped. For sure.

I'd say your brothers rails aren't stock.....or you're mistaken.

Just like you say....handles like a shorter track on the trail, and boondocks better than a long track with straight rails. Still floats just fine. I don't think anyone really has ever said they disliked tipped-up rails on there. It would be a small minority that probobably does include those who say they wheelie too much with big HP.

2001 800 RMK 151 skid, on my 00 700 RMK, no tipped rails, took them off of the donor sled myself, have replaced one of them since, replacement was not tipped. Is it possible it was only on sleds equipped with reverse?

the only thing that a stock nytro can beat a xp at is backing up the tipped up rails work well...:beer;

Sigh.... No one even mentioned the XP, or any sled beating another. I asked a simple question about tipped up rails.

Why is every post on SnoWest littered with "My XP will beat whatever you have" posts? I think owning an XP must come with serious insecurity issues.......

Your brother's sled does have tipped up rails you just haven't looked close enough. My 144's are tipped, it became real obvious after i added extensions.

how can you not see that your rails are tipped???That was a selling feature of these sleds- I have the same '01 151 siting in my shop(no reverse) with its second set of rails on it- believe me they are tipped, there is no option for straight factory rails....dont believe me call your dealer

haha would you like some cheese with that wine..... haha took a while for a sensitive person to respond lol you can simmer down it was a joke......:)

work super imo you'll get the best of both worlds-longer track with better trail manners. If you find you have a problem with wheelieing(is that a word?)it's a purty simple remedy, try raising your limiter strap and/or increasing front track shock preload

I have some tipped up 174 rails on my 1500 turbo. I'll let you know in a week what happens with 350 hp. Hoping the long track will help it stay on the ground.

This makes sense. I liked the idea of a 162 with the turning radius of a shorter track so I had about a foot of the rails tipped up about 5/8". Since then I have had serious issues with way too much transfer. It feels like the sled wants to come over backwards on the steep hills. Now what to do? I can either keep moving the suspension around to decrease transfer, get new rails or have these bent back to straight. ??????
So for me the tipped up rails are not working very well. I am sure they would work great for most other applications, just not the best on the steep stuff.
