What timing key are guys running on their 1200BB whiel running pump gas.

I may have too much timing for pump gas but just wanted to check what other guys are running.

I am running 3.5 Degrees of timing.

First trip out with new 1200BB in sled made it half the day, took out the PTO side piston.
Running Pump Gas..

Rebuilt the sled in the trailer out the next day with it, riched up my settings by 20 points by end of day back down to the same numbers I was the day before, EGTS are running 1050 and air fuel is 11.5.

Only difference between the first day and secoond day is that I was running 50/50 C12/pump gas.

So my thoughts are that 3.5 degrees is too much for pump gas.

my 2cts ,, timing advance is not a good idea for the 1000 at elvation , why should it be any better for the 1200

My 1000 runs great with 2.5 and 91 oct. Shell. Plan on using it for 1300 BB next season. My EGT runs 1230 to 1260 on hard pull.

I have been thru 6 pistons with the 1200. And now I have a good modifyed 1000 with twinnpipes that almost run as good as the 1200 twin pipe I had last year.

The big problem with the 1200 is that it looks like the piston is to big and bad aluminum compare to the stock 1000 pistons. I could not run as lean with the 1200 as I could do with the 1000. And was limited to 25 sec WOT climbs.

I still have this 1200 but I dont know what to use it to..Probably a very good engine for dragracing.

There is also others here that have the same problem.
