Timbersled or Nytro sled?

lol my point was that yamahas don't work in the mountains. I don't care how good of a rider you are. Part of riding in the mountains is being able to ride, and just trying to keep up on a yamaha you will be working much harder than a normal person. Just because the weights are somewhat close and the hp is almost the same does'nt meen it will keep up. The new pro's supposedly make 145 ish hp and they seem tobe capturing the market against sleds weighin only a few pounds more but with 20 more hp. You can throw chris berandt on a v max 4 and all of the sudden he won't be such an impresive rider. Yamahas are great sleds. But they don't make a good mountain sled.

Just becasue it looks good on paper doesn't mean it works in the mountains.

How much seat time have you had on a nytro? 15 minutes? couple hours? Why I have to come in here and defend my post of FACTUAL information is ridiculous!

The OP asked for opinions on snow bikes vs Nytros. Not Polaris vs. every other brand, or your skill vs mine! We get it you clearly don't like nytros how that opinion was formed I have no idea but I completely disagree with everything you have stated so far.

I can make a Nytro do whatever I want, whenever I want. I have ridden with pro's, m's, xp's, iq's...There has NEVER been a time where they go somewhere that I can't. I may not get the highmark but I myself also have 100 pounds of weight on each rider. I can take all the same lines through the trees as they do.

Here's a real world comparison for ya... 07 700 rmk 163" Fresh snow, same hill, different track each time. My Nytro(header/pipe +162 track) vs 700 rmk (pipe/can) me riding both of them. Ride it until it gets stuck. Both got to the same spot on the hill in the same riding conditions with the same rider.

As far as getting worn out on a Nytro, have you ever ridden it for a full day? Like I said above, I swim 2 miles, lift for an hour, AND ride a full day on a nytro almost every day! Not to mention helping everyone get unstuck! I will put $100 I can out last you riding my nytro...

sorry to the OP for ruining your thread, you really should try a timbersled snowbike, they are so much fun i cant even start to explain why

X2, I was trying to be helpful but it got WAY out of hand sorry!

havent gotten enough seat time on a nytro to say anything about them either way, even tho i think they are good machines

Great informative post

Haha...This post is outta hand!!!

If you want to be out skiing with your fam and Kids. your going to want to buy a sled, no matter what make or model. If you looking to explore places that people don't usually go, Get a Mountain Horse. It all depends on what your wanting to do. I love my mountain horse, I rode my dragon once this year, and my brothers pro a few times. They are fun, but the mountain horse is more appealing to me. It really comes down to personal preference, I would suggest that if you can make time and arrange a demo Ride with Allen from Timbersled, you should def do it. Most people will disregard the potential of the mountain horse before even riding one, don't be that guy. If your a good enough rider you can make the Shred Horse go any where you have the nuts to ride it.

I agree with the above poster. If your looking for family time id go with a sled whether it be blue, yellow, red or green. Ive never rode a 1 ski before but have sure thought about it alot. But for packing kids and towing skiers i dont think thats very managable on a bike. Who knows tho maybe im wrong, wouldnt be the first time or the last.

As to you clarke. im not very far from you. come down to the bighorns and ill show yah how to ride. I even ride a sled heavier then a nytro.
