Timbersled or Kmod?

I have a 2011 pro with a boondocker intercooled turbo. I am biting the bullet this year on a rear skid. I am looking to get some info on which skid is better between the Timbersled and the Kmod from some peeps who have some experience with them.

I had the 2010 Mtn Tamer w/Float2 shocks. Never did find a rear shock PSI that worked for me. I was thibking of getting some Exit shocks for the Mtn Tamer, but talked with Kevin at KMOD and ended up with complete KMOD with the Raptor upgrade. From the little tests I've done in the garage, this may be a fun year with the KMOD. Oh, FWIW,, this was on my 2009 155 RMK.

Both skids are awesome, but I'll have to recommend the complete KMOD skid with the Raptor upgrade.

You'll find arguments for both and both have upgrade options. I have had both under a TM10 and when I built my new Pro, I went with the KMOD because of how well it worked under my Cat. I went with the Raptors and absolutely love it. The Tsled use to be a better value, but now they're about the same price point. Both have lots of followers, and I think there's a whole thread on the two in the performance modified section. Either way you'll enjoy the benefits over stock.

I have a Timbersled on my Nytro, If I were to do it again I would defintely go Kmod

No older version.... I have it set up to there specs for 280hp Nytro, does a pretty good job of keeping nose down and getting up on snow (100 times better then stock) but I can get it to come over backwards. I just have the Float shocks but it rides terrible very stiff, has TONS of ski pressure which makes it very hard to boondock or playfull at all. This makes it very tireing to ride... Basically feels like the suspension is welded solid and doesn't transfer at all.
I want to take wieght off the front end and get it to pop up a bit so it's easier to throw around but not sacrificing the wheelieing out problem these big hp sleds have.

I recently tried to E mail Timbersled and told them my problems asking where I should start for adjustments and I got a email back with a link to there spec setups which is where I already told him I had mine set... Thanks a lot dude you sure put a lot of effort into that.

I will buy Kmod or Racers Edge next time

I jus put my new Timbersled skid together yesterday. I actually had my mind set on k-mod but when I talked to Kevin he said he doesn't make 146 skid. I would have to go with a 155 if I wanted to go with k-mod. So I settled for the mt tamer. I was very impressed with the quality fit and finish. One problem I have is the anti stab kit. There was no instructions, I have done some research on here on how to install. Do I really need it?? I am using my stock rails.

I have not owned a timbersled yet, but have one season on my kmod with raptors. All I can say is wow! It controls my m1 @10lbs well, rides extremely nice on whooped out trails, can adjust to your riding style well. It does make the front end feel a bit heavier due to raising back end up over stock. But climbing is great though.

a little late to the party, but i have the exact same sled 2011 w Turbo and I run the Timbersled skid (2012 model). It offers some great features for terrain domination, including instantly adjustable coupling for climbing or backing off to do some awesome wheeling! I went with the exit shox (a little heavier) IMO they are far superior to fox floats. It held up to all the abuse a free ride jumper could put it through. I love the set up and could never run anything else.

KMOD all the way!!! I saw one under a turboed Yamaha Apex, and the skis never came off the ground more than 6". The raptors are amazing, and the ride is phenomenal!

No need for it if your using stock rails and they havn't been cut, if you didn't have one on before you don't need it now.
