Timbersled on a Nytro at 17-21lbs boost?

Skid

I run a Timbersled with 174 flat ice age rails 270 McX and 174 x2.5 x 15 65 psi in front shock 155 in rear. 3/4 spacer in bottom 1/4 in top. Limiter strap on # 8 hole with second hole from the end...It works flawlessly....

Went out with a buddy with 2010 nytro last weekend we couldn't keep the front end down with the new stock susp. and McX 270 kit.

Nothing yet. I have talked to a few people with the same problem. I think some blocks in the rear will help but we are still working on it.

Lots of pressure in the new rear skid really helps them out. I think the new stock skid rides better than the mtn tamer(2010) but not quite as good at keeping the front end down.

Lots of pressure in both shocks?? How much pressure you talking?? I am about 190lbs.

It would be nice to get a good starting point before I go out. I'll prolly start a thread when there's more time on them in the snow.

Thanks

Just got a new shock for my Timbersled with highspeed and low speed compression adjusters, as well as rebound adjustment. Looking forward to trying it out next weekend. Should be able to dial in a nice ride as well as transfer control. It can always get better;)

Which shock are you using?

It's a new Float X that Timbersled had put together for these skids It's an option on a new skid or you can just buy one. I ordered some a while back and got them Friday.

Ok I talked to Bud about this one,, thought it might be something else.. Whats the shock worth$$

Changing skid, then changing the rails, then do a ton of shock work and you still may have a problem. Randy's Apex, M-10, Randy's new Nytro with propane, M-10. Look at all the guys that ride the most crazy hills in all of Canada, M-10 Why, because it works. Ive heard of guys bending the rear arm on the timbersled above 17lbs. Ive heard guys also bending rails. Do the M-10 and you'll never look back.

The M10 seems to be mostly a climber's skid. It's also 20lbs heavier than a Tsled  and depending on which one you buy is more money, the CR M10 starts at 5 grand. As far as Randy running M10's sure, he does on his climbers, but his daily driver has a Tsled, besides, maybe I don't have the same taste in setups. I have also looked at EZryde but you can't get the geometry right with an MC turbo (probably the same with PL) My Tsled works good but I must admit, I have put lot's of time into it and am getting a little sick of buying upgrades to get what we should have got in the first place.

I am 250 ready to ride and found that the skid works well with 160-180 in the rear and 120-140 in the front track shock. These settings worked well for me and was very happy with it.
