TimberSled Mt Tamer Suspension on Boosted Sleds

Just got my Mt Tamer Suspension and 162 track on my MCX Nytro. How are you guys running this set up. At first (on the shop floor) it seems real stiff and the tail end is really jacked up high. I was a concerned about too much ski pressure but it seems to be handling fine after one days riding on set up snow. I am running no shims. The drop brackets are over 1/2 inch longer than stock.

How are you guys tuning this?

Seems fine to me but i need more seat time.

did you pressure up the shocks with weight on it?there should be no weight on the skid when doing it.mine seemed stiff too but rides super plush on the trail.iam running 1 1/4shim on the bottom & it pretty good all around but could use another 1/4 shim on the steep stuff still wheelies a bit but its controllable.:beer;

It does look funky on the shop floor. The first one I built I thought I screwed up the rear mounts because the bumper is 24 feet in the air. This is just how they sit. It is exaggerated by an aftermarket tunnel with more taper. I have put on a CR Racing and VE Van Amburg tunell and they are aggressivley tapered and look REALLY high. Your setup sounds fine and should work great. Make sure the limiter is pulled up so you don't stab your track and put an anti stab kit on there while you are at it. You will be glad you did later.

The top shim(s) will set your ride height and the bottom shim(s) will control weight transfer - more shims, less wheeling.

I don't know if you can run more than 2 on the bottom,,I am runnin my setup with 17 lbs boost and will hold the skis for about 1/4 mile about 14" off the ground, comes back down around 155 kph, but on the climbs it only comes up about 12" or so:)

One shim on top will lower the rear bumper about 1-1/2", I didn't really like the high rear end. I only have 1 on the bottom but it pulls the skis easily at 15-16lbs. Would probably be better with 2 shims for climbing but we mostly boondock, so works well. Occasionally bottoms but a good setup will do that.
