Timbersled intake

I would like to know pro/con on the timbersled cold air intake systems for the800. I just got mine delivered and wondering how good it going to be. I mainly cared about the weight loss, but do they actually gain the power they claim?

No they don't gain the power they claim at all. Just the weight loss and the sled is much louder i found with my old 07 when i put the timbersled intake on. You have to make sure you put screening on the nose vents otherwise the nose will just fill up with snow and plug the intake filters. I don't much care for the timbersled intake and it is alot of money too. That is my 2 cents:beer;

the new kits fit better...i have an older kit on my 07...it had a few fitting issues that they have taken care of now...i like the kit...no bogging..great wieght savings...i really don;t think they claim any real power gains worthwhile...the advantages are in the other...you got it...use it...you will be ok..

I love my TS intake. I picked it up for way below retail thats why I went that route. I had the old kit, but I contacted timbersled and they sent out the update kit to me. It works great but as was stated just like any other intake you need to get the nose of the sled sealed from snow. I used the BDX 3 piece nose kit to seal mine up. Also when you install it put it on then put a flashlight up the intake and check to see if you have any light coming from the cracks to insure you have a nice fit and seal.

I like mine and they do lean the m8 out a bit so i found my sled to be a bit more responsive, the sled feels like it breaths alot better its almost like the stock one was choking it out. I use gator skins on the nose vents as well as screens provided and i have also sealed the cracks haven't had a problem yet, and if you have lots of venting the intake will work even better, also take your time installing you'll have to be patient its kinda fun. Another thing mine worked good with just a can but when i added the slp pipe package it was way to lean at the top a fuel controller was needed.

Thanks for the input guys. I do plan on putting a MBRP can on and frogskin vent covers so it sounds like my bases should be covered. Now let it snow like a BEOTCH

Side vents really help to let the heat out and let the fresh in i highly recommend them with that intake. JMO

Ditto on that. I'm not a fan of the t-sled compared to the other aftermarket intakes, but it does work & it will work better if you work to seal it up like black cloud said & vent the hell out of the sled.
It's worth the work for all aspects of the sled, clutching, motor & intake are all happier at lower temps.

cool Ill make damn sure I seal it up then, sidevents are on order.
