timbersled air intake for 06 700 cfi

Hey I was just wondering if anyone has put this on. I'm trying to get some more heat away from my clutches. The factory air box is big, bulkly and doesn't seem to let the air flow thru to well. I have shock tower vents and also vents on the side panels and by the foot wells. It seem to get way to hot under the hood. Last year I was cooking belts. Most of my riding is in Northern British Columbia with lots of powder and ususally in the 1000ft to 5000 ft range for elevation.

It is $250.00 bucks and I just want to know if it is worth the money or should I try somrthing else. Maybe I just need to go and by a $180.00 polaris belt. I have been running the 080's and Carlise ultimax bealts and they seem to be working pretty good.

Thanks Guys:):)

I was going to use the timbersled but it sits right beside the pipe and you are going to suck hot air. If I had the money i would be buying a Fire n Ice intake.

Thanks for the reply, I took a look at the 900 sub forum and there is lots of stuff on there. I will also go and look at Fire and ices, and see if they have any left.

Anyone out there got the fire and ice air intake and does it work pretty good

Thanks

My Timbersled intake worked pretty well. I put it next to an SLP pipe. Only issue is they are really close. A few bumps here and there and you will find aluminum from the intake heat shield on the side of your pipe. Tough to keep them apart. Also found that the bracket that connects the intake plenum to the filter evetually worked loose at the mounting screws that hold the two together. Again, the contact with the pipe may have done that.

One big plus for me, was that I could keep the front cooler in place. When running in the mountains, I took the cooler out and it didn't matter. When in the midwest with less snow and a 1 1/4" ripsaw, I needed the extra cooling. Just couldn't keep the coolant temp down without.

Pluses and minuses to each one. I give the Timbersled and overall rating of 6 on a scale of 1 to 10.

If i was goona have to do any intake it would be the Timbersled. they are inexpensive and do the same that the SLP does. If you are still in the market let me know.
