My brother met me at stampede this weekend and I brought an extra snow park permit for him but forgot to give it to him. He got a ticket for around $90 for no permit displayed. Is there any way to fight it or defur it. Any suggestions?

I got one at Kachess a few years back (permit was sitting in my center console)... I think you'll have to go to Yakima to fight it. I figured the road trip and the missed day of work just wasn't worth the effort. It was totally my fault for not posting it anyway, so I just took my lumps.
You forgot and now you need to pay for it. Isn't it that simple? Stop wasting peoples time for your mistake... Sorry, nothing but tough love. IMO, which you did ask for...
That is the more sensitive answer... but the result is the same...
Cant wait for your next mistake!

I had the permit laying on the center console and had a ticket waiting for me on my arrival back to the park....shouldn't this fine go towards the Groomers Fund? I had guys showing up all day long and everyone of them said the sheriff was writing tickets when they arrived. 10am. 1pm and 3 pm. My ticket was a 11:47am.
Not perfect by a long shot... Just learned a long time ago to suck it up and move on...... It is never the first mistake and it is never the last... just another lessen to be learned....
Maybe I am just the only expert here at making them....
It's pretty obvious that the law enforcement was assuming that we were all going to hit the hills last weekend after starving for snow for so long.
I rode with a friend that got a ticket as well. He had a snow park permit in the window, properly filled out and everything so we were totally surprised as to why he got a ticket. Upon further investigation we discovered that it was a sticker from LAST YEAR! He had a stack of good ones in the glove box, just grabbed an old one by mistake. Could he fight it, hell ya but his respnse was that it was own stupid mistake and he'll be mailing in his $68 fine.
I'm glad to see the Sherriff is doing what we pay him to do.
This is his job.
How many of you would be complaining if there were ton's of cars parked without the permit and you had no space available even though you did pay for your permit, basically taking up parking spaces without contributing to the fund to clear the lot and groom the trails?
There is another thread about folks voluntarilly pitching in money to keep the grooming happening and people using our area without permits is one of the reasons the state is running out of monies too soon in the season.
We can't have it both ways.
BTW - I believe NONE of the money goes to grooming, it goes to the general fund and we recieve no money from the general fund, right??
