Ticket at stampede

My brother met me at stampede this weekend and I brought an extra snow park permit for him but forgot to give it to him. He got a ticket for around $90 for no permit displayed. Is there any way to fight it or defur it. Any suggestions?

I think I would go to court...explain the cicumstances...and ask for a deferred sentence...unless you can specify that on the ticket! Good luck...and may the "Force be with you...Always"

I got one at Kachess a few years back (permit was sitting in my center console:rolleyes:)... I think you'll have to go to Yakima to fight it. I figured the road trip and the missed day of work just wasn't worth the effort. It was totally my fault for not posting it anyway, so I just took my lumps.

You forgot and now you need to pay for it. Isn't it that simple? Stop wasting peoples time for your mistake... Sorry, nothing but tough love. IMO, which you did ask for... ;)

That is the more sensitive answer... but the result is the same...

I got one last year at Stampede as well for no sno-park. I had just bought the sled and and had not gotten the permit yet. I took it to court and showed the judge the receipt for the sled and the license application for the sled and he still made me pay! He wouldnt even reduce the damn thing.

Oh well. Live and learn.

Cant wait for your next mistake!:D:rolleyes:

Not perfect by a long shot... Just learned a long time ago to suck it up and move on...... It is never the first mistake and it is never the last... just another lessen to be learned....

Maybe I am just the only expert here at making them....

Same happened to me Friday at Stampede..

I had the permit laying on the center console and had a ticket waiting for me on my arrival back to the park....shouldn't this fine go towards the Groomers Fund? I had guys showing up all day long and everyone of them said the sheriff was writing tickets when they arrived. 10am. 1pm and 3 pm. My ticket was a 11:47am.

This is a first for me .... I have never been accused of giving the "sensitive" answer and I resent that comment! :D

I am backing Ruffy on this--the court is going to say the same thing---I have been there--had a old sno-park permit in the window and forgot to put the new one in--Judge basically laughed and said pay and you may pass"GO":o

I even had the new pass with me at both court and in the truck--I caught the ranger writing the ticket and showed him the current one and was told--to bad--so sad:(

My own fault--kinda like yours---So----SUCK IT UP AND PAY THE PIPER;);):)

As you are doing--Sometimes we are a bit slow--right---once!!

H20SKE...

Just curious.....why didn't he have his own? Was he meeting you to ride one of your sleds?

With all the fuss over paying for grooming and supporting our sport and doing the right thing........sorry to say it, but this seems really out of whack.

I do hope ya'll had a good day and it was worth it.

I'm glad to see the Sherriff is doing what we pay him to do.
This is his job.
How many of you would be complaining if there were ton's of cars parked without the permit and you had no space available even though you did pay for your permit, basically taking up parking spaces without contributing to the fund to clear the lot and groom the trails?

There is another thread about folks voluntarilly pitching in money to keep the grooming happening and people using our area without permits is one of the reasons the state is running out of monies too soon in the season.

We can't have it both ways.

Now I see why all these guys call yo a liberal.......:face-icon-small-sho:beer;:D

They were out in full force!

It's pretty obvious that the law enforcement was assuming that we were all going to hit the hills last weekend after starving for snow for so long.
I rode with a friend that got a ticket as well. He had a snow park permit in the window, properly filled out and everything so we were totally surprised as to why he got a ticket. Upon further investigation we discovered that it was a sticker from LAST YEAR! He had a stack of good ones in the glove box, just grabbed an old one by mistake. Could he fight it, hell ya but his respnse was that it was own stupid mistake and he'll be mailing in his $68 fine.

It's nice to see people being accountable for their own actions.

I would do the same.
Now if I was in the lot as the officer was writing the ticket and I had a current permit in the glove box I would show it to him and hope he lets me off with a warning.
If not? Then it's my own dam fault and I'll pay the fine.

I agree pay up, it sucks.

No one is getting out of any tickets as we have the biggest per-capita state debt in the country, bigger than California. Thanks to those of you that voted for the grinch, you're an brainless idiot if you voted for Gregwhore, She's a @#!$#@$%$ skank!

BTW - I believe NONE of the money goes to grooming, it goes to the general fund and we recieve no money from the general fund, right??

Correct.
But the money that we pay for our permits does pay the grooming and snow removal. ( at least some of it does )

You think WE complain about getting a ticket for parking there without a permit...

You should see the click clicks go off while they justify their parking W/O one saying things like...
"I don't take up as much space as their trucks and trailers with my little car".
Or, "I'm a taxpayer and I have every right to park here without a permit, I'm just walking in the snow".

I've seen it for myself and it's hilarious!
