Just a thank you and a small plug to Chris Kasel and Carl's Cycle. Just finished installing a 660 kit into the wife's 2013 Pro RMK 600. Quality parts, gaskets supplied, nice porting job, quick turnaround, and no BS sales pitch. Will be running 62g belly busters for our riding elevation, if it works half as well as I suspect, she will be one happy camper. Look for a review on performance mid November. Just a reminder to all the "late starters", this is the time to mod / build your sled for the upcoming season, not mid November...

Give me your wallet.... ill start building and modding now....

Till then... bustin *** on overtime so I can afford mods and trips come November

Re: kit

Carl's Cycle are good people! What did the kit cost? And did you install it?:face-icon-small-coo

660 kit is $1695 US + tax, and yes, I did the install. I've done a lot of engines over the years, can't say if I've ever seen a kit that was truly ready to "bolt on", with no "tweaking" required before. The quality and thought that went into the 660 kit is second to none.

Please do let us know how it turns out this winter, I'm very interested in hearing how it runs.

As you might know I once had a 727 kit from SLP , they run neck and neck with the 660 and to this day I miss that motor. It was carbed but once set up I never touched it from 4000 to 10000 ft it just ran. Just sayin have fun trying to keep up.

I don't expect it to keep up to an 800, my wife just wanted a bit more power then the 600 was capable of, even with a high compression head added. I've never seen one run, she wanted more ponies, and the cost was considerably less then trading into a new 800, not that that was an option due to the reliability that has been reported on the monoblock CFI motor. I expect it will work well, and with Carl's track record, prove to be a reliable upgrade...

Talked to Carl's a couple days ago on this kit and they claim on a straight up climb where you can keep the throttle mashed it will run with or outperform the 800. Don't kid yourself if you think the 800 is going to leave it because the 660 is impressive from what everyone says. They say the 800 has the advantage when you go in and out of the throttle on a climb. I think you will be very impressed with the kit.

This is true and factual. the Carls 660 will run with a stock 800 except when the depth of snow gets to be 3 feet plus. Then the torque takes over but it isn't a big difference.

Or when the rider is 250#. A lot like riding a 440 race sled. Lots of hp but little torque. Great option though for the little guys or those that don't do a lot of boondocking in the deep.

That 660 has ALWAYS been a stellar package since it came out in about 2003.
Suprised MANY 800 riders over the years.
