ThunderCharger Super Charged Apex takes second at West Yellowstone drag races

T
I would like to congratulate Danny Kimball for piloting the ThunderCharger Supercharged Yamaha Apex to a second place finish at the West Yellowstone drag races last weekend. :D I'll post video of it when I can. I also want to thank Kevin from K-MOD Mountain suspensions for helping us with our suspension set up, and Yamaha of Blackfoot also. And for all the Naysayers that thought a supercharger would never be able to run with a turbo. I have one thing to say to you.... Nanny Nanny Nu Nu !!! LOL!!! :) :)

Turbo's are nice but I'd rather be BLOWN!!!

Yellow stone drags

I was the one he beat up at the drags!
Yes the track and setup flatout rock down the strip and i couldn't catch that supercharger.
We swap sleds after and compared some notes and I walk away with new respect for the word supercharger.
I lined up with MPI one and wasn't even a race.
Rock on thunder charger and congrats with that big heavy beast.

i sure wish these guys would answer a simple question, this is about the 5th time ive asked. WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO START SELLING THEM ?

Thanks Dave, that means a lot coming from you. And Lucky, I'm not satisfied with the engine management yet. That's why I was glad to see Dave from Powderlites at the races. He has the best thing going for engine management right now. It's more like what we use for super tuning our blown injected racing engines. It has real fuel and spark mapping capabilities that will interface with a lap top. You can change fuel & spark in each cell that are rpm & load based. Very Nice. His turbo Nytro was the smoothest running boosted sled I have been on. Bottom line is, when we meet on the mountain or trail or lake, I want you to slap me on the back and tell me how much you like your ThunderCharger supercharger and not want to punch me in the nose because you spent a grip of money on something that doesn't do what I said it will do. :beer;:beer;:beer;

So, how would you compare your setup to the MPI setup? Not looking for a bash, just want your opinion on the differences/similarities?

thanks,
modsledr

Not to sound negative, but my high school football coach always said all 2nd is is the first loser.

I agree. But if you think that we are done... your wrong. We don't race for second. But for the last 4+ years now the turbos have reigned supreme. We have been bashed for not being able to keep up and now we are very close. We sent some of the best U.S., Canadian & Swedish Turboed sleds back to there trailers. Next year I hope we will dominate. On a side note the sled that won was a titanium tube chassis front mount turboed RX-1 that was probably 200+ lbs' lighter than our big girl. So you decide if that was a factor or not. :D:D:D

I can appreciate that you want to brag about your results, and they are very impressive and part of the reason we have questions...how about answering some of them?? Thx!! :D :beer;

I am with this guy. After spending a couple of years on a T Apex I think I would love a troble free 220 hp sled my Apex is a lota sled for western washington and all the trees I have been afraid of mpi due to many issues a friend has had and issues I had back in the tripple days. I want 220-250 hp in a quiet sled. Now I have 300 plus hp and a sled thats got bigger nuts than its owner kinda scary:face-icon-small-hap one last thing I want to do it without engine work. this should be a super charger.
