*Thunder Mountain - Grand Mesa 2010 CONTINUED HERE FOR FREE USERS

Since I can't even view the thread I started last fall, I'll continue it here for the next 50 posts.

Rode both days this weekend, excellent conditions up there.

Yesterday 12-14" fresh snow - go anywhere traction and base.

Today another 12-14" for a total of 2 feet fresh in the trees.

The wind howled up there overnight, so any meadow was severly blown and drifted. Trees and sheltered northerly meadows were soooo good. The most delicous, lightest, blower pow we've had all year. Get up there!

Looks awesome. Wish we had headed up there Sunday. Hit the Mesa instead. It was good, but not like that. That would have been a blast on the Turbo.

A good solid 18" at Thunder Mountain Lodge overnight. It is fairly wet and heavy. Still snowing also, looks like we will be in for it all day.

Rumor has it that it was epic today.. Which figures since I was at work.. But I am looking forward to digging out the Apex a time or two tomorrow.. :face-icon-small-hap

Fixed that for ya! Ridin' this weekend? We are planning to head up to "Area 40" on Sunday. Got some beta that it's EPIC right now.....

Where are you headed this weekend? Maybe I'll make the trip over from Marble... Saturday looks like the better day, since snow will be moving in Sunday... Jason

A sincere thanks

To Powderpatrol and Bohica. Both volunteered immediately to help find a buddy of mine (whom they don't even know) in the dark on Monday night. We recieved a "help" message from his SPOT at 5pm and both Ray and Mark were ready to go right away. My buddy ended up walking out and the mission was aborted just before we got out of GJ on the way up to the Mesa.

Ray and Mark are not only great riders, but great fellow sledders and stand-up guys. I feel very lucky to have people like them as friends. Thanks guys.

Here are the pics of the sled - Mason, myself and our buddy went in yesterday afternoon to recover it. We fixed it on the trail and even got in a few hours of riding in Hidden Valley!
