Thumb throttle alternatives?

to much using the bars to shift weight and counter steer.i can only picture a disaster.i like to push down on my throttle side of the bars when leaning right.would be hard to control without the thumb throttle.just my style.

You push with the outside of your palm. Whether you're using a thumb or an index finger flipper, that part never changes.

Maybe it's a mountain bike thing and I'm just completely used to using my thumb and three fingers to move the bike/sled around while my finger hangs out on a lever but it's really not an issue. It's the thumb throttle that keeps wanting to spread your hand out AWAY from a position of strength in my opinion. You know that first ride of the year where your thumb is always tired afterwords? That's what's happening. Everybody just builds up thumb strength and then forgets about it but it's a more stressing system for a vehicle you manipulate position on as much as a sled.

Like 05M7 said: just flip the stock block around and try an index finger setup. Easy to do and easy to UN-do.

No one has brought up hitting a tree with the throttle if it if flipped to the front? If you do it I would probably install hand guards, some good ones.

Yeah I've got some barkbusters on mine.

The thing is, unless you're one of those guys who likes having their bars in their chest, your arms angle DOWN at the bars. So the throttle faces more down than forward. I had a rev several years ago that I flipped the lever on and didn't run handguards. Never hit it once and I basically gave that thing a second home in treewells I was in them so often. :D
